Leave the city behind as you travel through Mt Lofty Ranges dotted with small villages and spectacular view. Next, explore the historic town of Strathalbyn on the Angas River. Take the time to discover the history of this quaint town and enjoy a morning tea at one of the local cafes (own expense). Then head to the Port of Goolwa, an old paddle-steamer town where the Murray River meets the lakes and sea.

Pass by Port Elliot on Horseshoe Bay as you travel toward Victor Harbor. There is plenty of free time to explore the town --you might like to take the horse drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island (own expense) before heading to one of Australia’s best loved wine regions -- McLaren Vale. Enjoy a wine tasting or two at one of the many cellar doors and sample the best of local produce at Medlows Confectionary and the Almond Train. Finish your day with a drive through the picturesque coastal towns of Christies Beach, Port Noarlunga and Moana, before returning to Adelaide.
