What You Can Expect
Jeep Safari Through Denali
Your destination is Stampede Road. Once called Stampede Trail and not shown on many Alaska maps, this road was a mining trail blazed in the 1930s. This is the same road that the character from the film Into The Wild travels on.
The first few miles of the road are paved, but beyond this point, your guide will lead the pack of Jeeps along some unpaved paths, giving you with plenty of bumps and dips to maneuver. There will be ample opportunity to switch drivers so everyone can enjoy the thrill of maneuvering along this road through the wilderness.
Through your two-way radio, your guide will explain the area’s rich history, point out interesting sights and provide tips on the road conditions ahead. You and your fellow travelers can ask your guide any questions you may have along the way.
Don’t forget your camera! On a clear day, you may be able to see Mt McKinley, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, as this area is rife with moose, foxes, caribou and even bears.
Enjoy a snack before winding your way back to where you started, with lots of stories and photos of your Alaskan wilderness adventure to share with friends!
