This is really good. It is what you make it. You can just sit on the boat and tour the canals, which is very relaxing, or get on and off when and where you feel like. The commentaries on the boats are good, too.

We only got off at the city hall/opera house. There was absolutely nothing there. What was the point of encouraging us to get off there? It is a big empty building without a coffee shop or washroom.

This is worth doing. I wish it came around more than something like once an hour, maybe every half hour. I also wished it went later. I like the vapporrettos in Venice, which come quickly and run late. However, they're not strictly for tourists like this was. If it ran later than I could have gotten out of the central district which was touristy, with cheesy t-shirt shops, and stayed out in different districts where the live music, local restaurants were, etc.

Great info about the city although they do not go by as often as we would like. And if the boat is full, you need to wait for the next one, which could be almost an hour depending on the time of year and day of week.
