What You Can Expect
In Amsterdam, canals are like roads, ferrying locals and visitors around the city. Instead of the sightseeing buses you’d find somewhere else, sightseeing boats are a unique way to tour Amsterdam while you’re in port. Set your own itinerary with a hop-on hop-off canal bus tour. Hop on and off as often as you like at 7 to 9 (depending on the season) canal stops located near Amsterdam's major museums, attractions and shopping centers. Your pass is valid for one day.
While on board, listen to engaging commentary on the city and sights you see along the way, including the Rijksmuseum, the Anne Frank House and the Albert Cuyp Market.
This pass also gives you a skip-the-line admission ticket at the must-see Van Gogh Museum, housing the largest collection of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh. Admire famous works like The Bedroom, Sunflowers and several self-portraits, and track the artist’s creative development and compare his paintings to works by his 19th-century contemporaries.

Excellent tour. Advise all travelers to pre-book events and use hop on hop off tour facility.
Nice boat tour, didn't go to the museum
so simple - handed over voucher for canals which was excellent and the van gogh voucher could be used next day which was great as canal network quite extensive. queues at museum were enormous on sunday so fantastic for us.
Skip the line is just shorter wait of the two lines about 10 minutes. Some how everybody has the same idea. For more convenience, recommend avoid exchanging the voucher for HOHO.
Enjoyed the perspective of the city from the canal. Easy access to Van Gough Museum.
The ticket to the museum was wonderful. There was practically no wait, The commentary on the boats were typical. The captains were friendly and quite knowledgeable The tour was well worth the money. On the other hand the directions for where to catch the canal bus were vague and the busses were not that regular.
The ticket kiosk was very close to my hotel and the vendor hadn't heard of the "shore excursion" part of the tour. That was fine for me as I didn't realize that this was supposed to be a "pick you up at your ship" excursion in the first place. I received the tickets no problem. Bypassed the line at Van Gogh, which was about 30 people, I arrived around 10 in the a.m. The line was MUCH longer when I left, mind you. The canal pass was great too. The advantage of booking with Viator is that there is a reservation when I get there. There are other companies out there but this is a reliable company that offers great tours with knowledgeable guides. That being said, this excursion did not have a guide for either the museum or the canals.
Line up too long at museum and weather poor....wet, wet wet
Museum was great and should be a must for all visitors. Hop on Hop off boat experience was not so great. The hours were limited and would have enjoyed an evening opportunity to see the city. The boat windows should be cleaned for optimal viewing. The boat drivers were very nice.
The excursion was lovely but nobody told us beforehand the the Van Gogh would be closed the day we were there.
