The canal tour no longer provides the 1/2 hour red light district walking tour so we stayed on the boat ride the full two hours which was actually better. Great wine, snacks and commentary. It was very romantic and one guy actually proposed to his girlfriend just as it turned dark and the lights were coming on. Make the cruise even more special. Would really suggest this tour. Very relaxing after a long day.
This ended up being a candlelight canal and harbor cruise as we never did get off the boat to go see the Red Light District. However, my husband and I had a great time and would book this again if ever in Amsterdam. The larger groups were loaded first so they were in the back of the boat. Us and another couple got the two front booths all to ourselves so we could easily hear the captain and tour guide. They were both informative and funny and we learned a great deal about the history of the area. The meat/cheese/snack platter was quite nice and our wine glasses were never empty for very long. Seeing the sun set over the canals and the lights sparkle on the harbor was a highlight of our trip!
Ive recently come back from Amsterdam and I have to say that the red light district cruise and walking tour was by far the best thing we done whilst we were there. Our tour guide and captain were the nicest guys, very friendly and made us giggle. There were two bottles of wine on our table one red and one white and a cheese/ham/nuts plateau which were very yummy. The views were amazing. So pretty at night. On the way back we asked if we were able to have another bottle of wine and they were happy to give to us free of charge. Such a lovely cruise and I would definitely recommend to anyone going to Amsterdam!
This tour was great !! We really enjoyed it ! Lovely ambiance ,romantic and the wine and cheese is very generous...this was one of my favorite moments from our trip !
The tour was really great! Our guide was fun and made it interesting. Great service and good way to see and experience Amsterdam.
Well organised, good local information given. Went on this tour mid November so small group only on the tour. Excellent captain and Tour guide both with good sense of humour. Enjoyed trip from start to finish
what an introduction to this great city.the cruise is a must the food and wines was good.the host MARK was also the walk guide.brillant person
Really enjoyed this tour, as a pair of young women we wanted to explore the red light district but weren't so keen on going for a wander on our own so this was a perfect way to be able to see it all, but have the comfort and security of a well-informed guide! The cruise itself was also fabulous, a bit more up market than the other evening cruises run by the same company which we went on another night. Selection of cheese, meats and nuts as well as a bottle of red and white wine on the table and it wasn't overbooked so we got a table to ourself which was nice. Also an outside area for taking good photos. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent evening! Clean boat, good wine, snacks included. No extra chg.
Guide was fun and knowledgable.
The meeting place for the river boat was conveniently located. The tour departed on time and was most enjoyable. Our narrator/guide spoke very clearly and did a good job of taking us around the red light district. He was most informative and offered to answer any questions that we may have had.
As a mature couple we loved this cruise. It was from 9-11 PM and that made part of the cruise in daylight and some in the dark. Seeing the city with the city lights (and bridge lights) on was very romantic. The tour started with a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine and when your bottle(s) were empty you just had to request more. There was also cheese, meat and a small bowl of crunchy bits. The tour guide and
Had a great time!!! The tour guides were excellent, informative and funny. A little confusing getting our tickets as we thought our online tickets were all we needed to get on. Had to trade them in at a booth near the boat.
A marvellous trip to view the old Dutch houses along the canals by night. We appreciated the interiors of the houses and house-boats and were enchanted by the bridges and historic buildings along the way. The walk through the Red Light District was certainly different! The guide was excellent and showed us some quiet, refined gardens within the area as well as the more lively spots! We enjoyed the wine and snacks offered and would recommend the whole package.
recently did this tour with my boyfriend for our anniversary. we had a brilliant time. the cruise was very relaxing and the guide was funny and provided us with lots of information, he was very approachable and welcomed any questions. red and white wine offered aswell as cheese and nibbles, which were very nice. I would recommend this tour! very enjoyable
Our tour guide and his Michael Jackson glove made this tour great!
The wine was awesome, the snacks were good too!
We learned about the canals and the homes, even the drunken houses! And houseboats!
The walking tour through the Red Light District was different. Amusing, and informative! Apparently prostitutes in Amsterdam get better remuneration and benefits than pilots in Newfoundland!
This tour showed many different areas and aspect to the daytime bus tour.
We also purchased a hop on hop off canal bus tour.....Don't, just grab a 24 or 48 hour bus pass. Much cheaper and more convenient!
Great Fun! Got to see a lot of the city from the water with an interesting, amusing guide. Plenty of wine and cheese. Nice to sit down for a while too as a visit to Amsterdam involves a great deal of walking! Would recommend.
This was nice, we did a quick walk through the Red Light District. We couldn't really hear the guide so anything he said was missed by half the group
very nice pm tour of Amsterdam from the water view. we had spent a lot of time walking the city during the day, but the pm cruise was very fun. we all had two bottles of wine on our tables along with nuts and crackers, and cheese slices. our tour wasn't full so we had plenty of extra of whatever we wanted. I would recommend bringing your own loaf of bread or something more substantial than just "nibbles". the walk through the Red Light District was fast paced! not that you would want to linger much. not too romantic as noted, more of a tour with light commentary, which was perfect for our group.
