It was OK, but could have been better

Everything was well organized and informative, but the time allocation at each point was to short. I felt rushed all the time and didn't have time to really appreciate the atmosphere of every place.

The tour was beautiful and very enjoyable. We were disappointed with the Zaanse Schans portion of the trip. My husband wanted to book this trip because he was interested in seeing the inside of a windmill. When we arrived at Zaanse Schans we were ushered into a gift shop selling wooden shoes. There was a short presentation about the way the shoes were made. That was interesting, but it left no time to walk the great distance to the windmills or the village. We felt the tour guide should have informed us that we would not have time to see the demonstration and see the windmills. Many people made comments that we would have preferred an option since the time was so limited. Other than that , the tour was very nice. For elderly people there needs to be some type of transportation to the windmills and/or village. The walk was very long.

There was not sufficient time allowed to visit the site of the windmills.

This was a great tour but we spent too much time with the wooden shoes so there was no time to really see the Windmills. This was a great way to see the country and get a real feel for the Netherlands. This tour needs to last 1 more hour to get everything in.

Not enough time spent at the small villages to explore the old Amsterdam.

The locations were great and very interesting. My criticism was that we did not have long enough at each stop but for the price that was understandable. The guide was very knowledgeable but had a short temper with the stragglers.

The start of the tour could have been more organized. There were many tours leaving from the Lindberg office at once and no clear organization of which bus to get on. Also, could use more time at stops, even another 20-30 minutes per stop.

This wasn't a tour, this was a bus ride where we could go places and see a few things on our own. The guide did not explain anything, and the few times I tried to ask questions I was rudely told not to ask anything. Several times we wandered aimlessly through back streets by foot, clearly stalling for time until the bus would be at the correct place to pick us up. Stay away from this tour, it wouldn't be worthwhile even if it were free.

The trip would have much better if we were given time to see the windmills - absolutely no time at all. The guide was not taking time to point things out to the whole group, nor was she ensuring that the group was together. More time should have been allocated to the windmills and Marken instead of 1 hour to roam around Volendam. This feeling was echoed by most of the English speaking people on the bus. Our little group of 4 used our own transport the following day to go and explore the same sights.

These were lovely places and worth a visit. However, we should have gone to Zaanse Schans and Volendam by ourselves. It was like a running tour; we did not have enough time for everything, especially Marken - we were only in Marken for five minutes and didn't even have enough time to take a photo. The boat tour was less than expected. The bus driver was really rude.

I just felt herded about, and that I got no real insight into the sights I was seeing. Five different languages were used in the tour, so it took forever to get it all said! Too many passengers on the bus as well.

Our tour guide did not know what she was doing. She left people at every stop and got the entire group lost.
