Your day starts with a guided tour of the tulip greenhouses where you'll be able to see literally millions of tulips in all stages of growth. Upon arrival you will enjoy coffee or tea with cake before you head off with your expert guide who will show you around and give you information on everything tulip! Before leaving the tulip farm you will receive a little gift.
Next stop is the world-famous "Enclosing dyke", a spectacular strip of land that divides two great masses of water. Here, your guide will tell you about the historic Dutch relationship with the water and how this has shaped the country. Don't forget your camera to catch some truly incredible views.
You'll stop for lunch (additional cost) in the classic Dutch town of Medemblik on the IJsselmeer lake. This is a great opportunity to explore on your own and purchase some delicious Dutch food.
Your first stop of the afternoon will be a tour of a fully working windmill.
The final stop of the day is Zaanse Schans, known as "the windmill village". Aside from the spectacular sights, you'll tour a typical Dutch cheese farm and have the opportunity to taste some of the cheeses yourself before heading back to Amsterdam.
