Terrific tour and an absolute must for anyone visiting the Netherlands at that time of year.....Just STUNNING
Thoroughly enjoyed our well organised trip to see the Keukenhof Gardens - the commentary on the bus was excellent.
Unfortunately the season was 2-4 weeks behind this yr. however, the beauty of the whole area was present in every corner. Nicely narrated tour on the way to the gardens and lots of time to roam around on your own. The colours and shapes of some of the flowers are amazing....Please don't forget your camera!!
Everything was perfect. Bus drop off and pick up was as close to the gate as possible. The gardens were beautiful.
Excellent trip.Very interesting and informative guide on the bus and the fields and gardens were beautiful.
I took the half day trip which was enough especially since it was cooler out and most of the flowers were not in bloom. The Willem-Alexander hot house was fantastic. Hundred of tulips and many other varieties were in full bloom. This is where most of the people were concentrated. I went in mid April and it was rainy and chilly. I understand that the flowers finally came out around the beginning of May. To get the full value of seeing the flowers in bloom you almost have to watch the weather around the Amsterdam to see if there has been a cold snap and then book your trip accordingly. I wish I had waited until the beginning of May because my whole trip to Amsterdam was centered around seeing the Gardens. The tour itself was nothing more than a ride from central Amsterdam to the Gardens and back with a few comments on the landscape from the guide. Certainly an easy way to get there and it included the entrance price. Coaches are typical European - clean and efficient. Love riding on the top deck - great views of the countryside. The half day tour was ok under these circumstances but if the Gardens were in full bloom a full day would be recommended. Lots of walking, nice shops, and a few pretty good places to eat and of course, the glorious flowers!
The tour itself -- the narrated bus trip and beautiful Keukenhof Gardens -- were wonderful! However, the pre-tour logistics were terrible. Apparently, there were multiple tours departing the Lindbergh ticket office on busy Damrak Street at roughly the same time. Consequently, there were HUNDREDS of participants jammed together on the sidewalk in front of the office -- all wanting to know what to do. The lone Lindbergh employee in the middle of the swarm did little to keep the waiting crowd informed about what was going on. A simple announcement (repeated periodically and in more than one language) -- indicating that multiple tours would be leaving from that point and that the departure for each would be clearly announced -- would have dramatically reduced the confusion that seemed to be plaguing most of those waiting for a tour. Announcing the PENDING departure of each tour (eg, "The bus for the Keukenoff Gardens tour, in English, will be arriving in about 5 minutes.") would have been a further help.
This was an excellent tour. We would highly recommend it.
The pick up location was easy to find.
The bus was a double decker, very comfortable.
The bus driver was very professional and a safe driver.
The on board guide gave very good information about the countryside we were traveling through. He spoke several languages to accommodate all passengers.
Before entering the garden we were taken through the countryside to see tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils growing in large fields. It was very beautiful to see the ribbons of color.
The length of time at the gardens was excellent.
A map handed out by the guide would have been nice or if free ones were available it would have been nice to have been told where to go to get it,
The pick up bus was where he said it would be and it was on time.
Wonderful trip saw everything we wanted. The tour guide was great, felt so sorry for him though as Amsterdam was a nightmare traffic wise after the Kings Day!!! He was put through the mill a bit but was really great...Thanks
We've seen outstanding gardens around the world, but never anything to top this. Simply outstanding!
A well organised day trip. The courier was informative and funny. The gardens and Tulips were lovely. Although not all the Tulips were out it was still a beautiful sight to see.
