the gardens are beautiful. No Picnic Lunch however. They gave you 15Euro vouchers to use at any of the food places. That was OK though. Haarlem was a really nice town and great architecture. beautiful old church
This was such an awesome day. We met our guide in Amsterdam, got on the van and went to Haarlem. We toured this beautiful place for an hour. Too bad it was raining so hard! Got back on the van and traveled to meet up with a private grower of flowers. He talked to us about the flowers that grow in the area.
We then traveled to Keukenhof Gardens. We were on our own for four hours to discover this place. It was awesome! So many beautiful flowers to look at. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!
Amazing tour with lovely guide Josie! Would have loved more time in Haarlem to explore more of the area. Keukenhof and tour of local farmer was outstanding! Did not disappoint.
Great trip - great guide - worth doing in next few weeks whilst tulips are out.
absolutely amazing and informative, so glad we chose this tour and the tour guide was brilliant she knew all the answers felt very safe with the driver too, only problem was the ticket office making us late to get our tickets and then had to run to get the bus and with a 72 year old mother it wasn't very good, but the trip was fantastic
Marian our tour guide was wonderful. Haarlem is a beautiful city. Very interesting and informative trip to the Tulip Farm. Keukenhof cannot be missed!!!
Touring an actual flower farm and having the owner explain the growing and processing of the flower bulbs was very enlightening and made me appreciate the various flowers I saw later at the Keukenhof Gardens and the work that goes into creating all the various varieties. Plenty of time was allotted at the Gardens themselves.
A perfect day. The flowers were gorgeous. Our driver and guide were very kind, knowledgable, and professional.
We were fortunate to have taken this tour while the tulips were at their peak. The gardens were gorgeous! Tour guide was great. Didn't get the normal walking tour of Haarlem due to a fire in the center that caused some road blockages, but still a lovely town.
Very easy way to get out of Amsterdam and see the flower fields and Keukenhof gardens.
I rate this a five for the Keukenhof portion. The guide was excellent, the gardens unbelievably beautiful. Highly recommend to all.
The Haarlem stop was disappointing, too broad.
The guide was well informed, relaxed and had a great sense of humor.
The trip to `Harlem, was just Ok. We could have seen some good architecture, instead of visiting women's hostels. It seemed like a beautiful town. The trip to Kokenhof was really good. The guide on the bus and in the garden were excellent. Very knowledgeable. The picnic lunch was good.
We had a marvellous day in the bulb fields, the walking tour of Haarlem, including the market and then the stunning Keukenhof. The tour with the gardener was a must. Our tour guide was very helpful and informative. We ran out of time to see all that the Keukenhof had to offer as the guided tour used up almost one and a half hours. It would be good to state the alternative pick up point at the station as we were staying just around the corner, yet travelled down very early on the tram to Museumsplein.
The tour started late but it wasn't important. The guide was very nice and the bus was great. We ended up going again 2 days later on the cheaper tour. it was good too. The receptionist was extremely helpful. I forgot my voucher and she still printed off tickets for us. I brought her my voucher the next day when we booked our 2nd trip to Keukenhof. The tulips were magnificent. Thankyou for 2 great tours.
I wish the gardener tour had been with a smaller group and that the gardener had been more knowledgeable
The visit to Keukenhof Gardens was amazing! The flowers are beautiful! It was a lovely sunny day with spectacular blooms! The advance tickets for admission, vouchers for lunch and coach avoided many lines.
The stop in Haarlem was not special, except as beverage and bathroom stop.
Haarlem was not interesting, maybe due to the lack of knowledge from our tour guide, who was replacing the original guide who was sick. The amount of time spent in Haarlem was too long. Maybe if it was a warm and sunny day we would have walked around the stores to kill time. But with the guide we had, we were done with the tour very quickly. Keukenhof was simply amazing, and our guide from the garden, did a great job explaining not only about the history of the tulips, but also about the garden itself. The lunch box provided was delicious and more than plenty with 2 large sandwiches, a fruit and juice. I recommend only the Keukenhof Garden tour.
The tour did not live up to our expectations which admittedly were high to begin with. It was bitterly cold when we stopped in Haarlem en-route to Keukenhof and walking around the town being shown signs for houses "To Let" was not a cultural high. Ending up in the town square it would have been nice to be allowed time for a hot drink but instead we were ushered back to the mini-bus. Before arriving at Keukenhof we were shown the fields of tulips in the surrounding villages but at this point we did not realize that this was the high point of the tour as Keukenhof turned out to be a theme park albeit quite a pleasant one but not what we expected. We opted not to join the behind-the-scenes tour conducted by a park ranger as the number of people on the English speaking one was aprox 50 so little chance of being able to hear or follow what was being pointed out. In summary had we known more about what we were going to see we would have made our own way to Keukenhof and spent more time at the tulip fields and taken more photo's which we did not do as we were under the impression we were going to see more fields of tulips at Kekenhof. We would add that our guide was excellent and certainly knew her stuff!
Our guide was wonderful, however, they switched the Haarlem tour to the morning vs. the afternoon when the weather was worse. The Haarlem tour was disappointing.
I expected more from the session with the master gardener. Just walking around the gardens and pointing out specific flowers was not what I wanted. Also, the box lunch was terrible. Three sandwiches on three different breads/rolls with only two slices of meat in between, a mushy apple, and a small drink was not what I expected. It would have been better to give the participants a food voucher to use at the restaurant so they could get what they wanted to eat, especially since my husband and I are vegetarians. The visit to Harlem was nice, but we were given only 35 minutes to walk through the town square and I was hoping to experience more of the history of the town. I felt the amount charged for this tour was too expensive for what was given.
