The Canal Bus Hop is a lovely way to see the city.

Had a fantastic time and good to be able to use the canal pass up until 12 the next day.

Difficulties of combining cruise planned tour and skip the line tickets. First, conversion to museum passes can only be provided by canal company ticketing. Museums do not convert. Secondly, although museum access is included in the claims, only the Van Gogh Museum applied and its computer was down so we had to pay. Reieksmuseum did not provide access and we had to pay again. Thus the Skip the Line ticket was useless given the short time we had in Amsterdam. Finally, an exhibit of book publishing and art history which I understood to be at the Reieksmuseum was at the Amsterdam airport instead and there was no time to get there. So Amsterdam was a bust and I will have to come back and allow more time.

All those who are considering going to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, be prepared to be herded like cattle. I have never been in a more claustrophobic situation in my life, absolutely ridiculous. HOWEVER, this canal bus hop on hop off pass made it the easiest possible way to be disappointed in a city that is far beyond too touristy!

A waste of time in regards to the skip the line aspect. We couldn't skip the line, you still have to queue with everyone else to get the ticket for the correct day!! WASTE of time!! The museum was very good and the canal cruise is a day in itself.

Booking online was the easy part. The experience as much different. We assumed that the voucher printed off would allow us access to the Van Gogh Museum and avoid queues. This did not happen. The museum told us to go to the Canal Bus office to get the ticket and come back - 'you will not have to queue' again. On return the ticket still did not allow entry - so what was the point of booking online? It would have been quicker to queue in the first place and pay the entry fee. The Canal Bus Hop On Hop Off is an accurate description but does not mention that there are 3 lines: red, blue and green. Would still go back to Amsterdam but booking online is a waste of time in our view and experience.

It is just as easy to walk the downtown area and you are not restricted by the times of the canal bus. Ended up skipping the museum because of time factor.
