This was the 2nd time taking this tour and we had a great time. We got to see some amazing little places and enjoyed the beer. Shaun made just the right beer selections for us. A great way to spend a few hours, we made note of our favorite places and can't wait to go back!!

This tour was great. Sean, the guide, is quite knowledgable in different processes of brewing beer. We were a small group and he kept it lively the whole time. The 3 places we tasted beer at were super, with great atmosphere as well. If you enjoy learning about what you're drinking, take this tour!!
We had a wonderful time on this tour. There were 4 of us + another traveler in our group, and Sean really went above and beyond your run-of-the-mill tour with us, helping us experience some unique and wonderful aspects of Amsterdam that we had not even noticed in our first few days there. We really appreciated how he asked for our input, then listened to and worked to meet our needs and requests. He was very proud of and respectful toward all the special nuances that make Amsterdam the amazing city it is, and with what he recommended and introduced us to, we hope to visit Amsterdam again soon!
Excellent tour! The guide was very personable and had lots of interesting information to share about Amsterdam and its history. We went to three different bars which all had a wide variety of beers to choose from, and a nice snack was included. Highly recommended!
The tour was my self, a couple from America, and our American ex-pat tour guide, Sean. A very small group to be sure. He knew the area and history of not just beer, but Holland and the variety of native alcoholic beverages. We got to choose from a few local beers at each bar so each person could tailor the tour to their specific tastes, or be adventurous if the mood strikes. Having a light meal before the tour starts would be a good idea as you may get too effected by the drinks to fully appreciate it all by the end.
Fun and knowledgible guide! Knows all the best/true Brussels beer spots. And all the bartenders know him!
Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgable about the city and the pubs she took us to. The pubs were great and so was the beer. Would highly recommend.
How could we not enjoy this walking beer tasting tour! It was just us and the guide who was knowledgeable, friendly, and cordial. We had a great time and learned a lot about beer and the history of Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend this tour to beer lovers.
This was a great beer tour, i would recommend it to anyone who want to visit some of the bar of Amsterdam.
Audrey was fantastic, even after one of the guys spilled the very first beer on her, she was great. We had only 3 people on the tour and that made it awesome, so much better than a larger group, we got to know eachother and had a great time. We tried a variety of beers at different pubs and learned a lot about the local history. The best stop was for liqueurs at Wyndand Focking, a local store since the mid 1600s, hopefully it will still be there in the future since there was discussion about the owners selling to a corporation. All the pubs were at out-of-the-way places which you would never just stumble across on your vacation, you would have to know they were there to look for them. Overall a great way to spend a few hours in Amsterdam.
I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Shawn/Sean (not sure how he spells it), was very pub-knowledgeable and took us to some hidden gems. He was very laid back and easy going. If you are a beer-drinker, this tour is definitely worth the money.
Tour is absolutely must do! Guide knows it all, and been there, done that. Any questions about Amsterdam, local beer, local culture, and local dos and donts this guy will help you with. Fantastic experience, cant miss! Adults only!
A little pricey, but tour operator was very informative and pleasant.
Our guide was a very knowledgable and pleasant fellow. With our family of four and a only one other, it was a very small group. We visited some very interesting places and enjoyed some very good beers, tailored to our personal preferences. It was much like renting a friend for the evening.
This tour was interesting, fun and educational. Definitely and interesting evening.
Would have been more interesting to be taken to more than three places.
It was ok, we have opportunity to try different kinds of beer in different places that I wouldn´t go by myself.
Not very impressed with this tour, the price paid or the professionalism of our tour leader.
For our 30 each, we got three SMALL draft beers 0.25L or 0.33L, a very crowded and chaotic environment in the three spots we were led to, and not a great bit more.
- Sean was 20 minutes late arriving at Beer Temple, the designated meeting place
- A phone call to the listed phone number for Urban Adventures asking about the late arrival of the tour guide went directly to voicemail not reassuring for clients
-He had no tables/seats reserved for our group in this small, busy bar, so we 11 were crammed around a very tight couple of small tables upstairs.
-Sean had to borrow a pen from one of the clients so he could take beer orders for everyone, and even then, it took quite a while for him to get organized
- The tour was scheduled for dinnertime on a Saturday night in Spring not a great time for this kind of tour if we want to be able to be seated, get service, or even hear/talk with each other. All three of the spots Sean brought us to were incredibly busy, and we had to jam ourselves into corners and benches. Sean did not seem to have anything organized or pre-arranged with the destinations, so there was a lot of time wasted with how to pay, whos ordering, what we want, etc.
In all, this should have and could have been planned and executed a whole lot better. It wasn't Sean's first night doing this tour, and he should have had better preparation, planning, coordination with the establishments, and a less hectic experience for his clients.
Best part if the tour was that we went to two obscure places. I would have rather looked up some places and skipped the tour. The guide was a chain smoking know-it-all, who gave poor insight of the history and importance of Dutch brewing. Instead he focused more on comparing to American brewing.
