I did really like seeing the countryside, but when I was booking the trip I thought we were actually going to a windmill instead of just stopping and looking at them from a distance. I would have much rather toured the windmill than spend an hour or so at the harbor shopping.

There was a lot of driving and standing around, and the long walk through the village at the end was unexpected and difficult. I could not buy cheese because of import restrictions, so the visit to the cheese maker was less interesting. The wooden-shoe maker was interesting, but the length of time at this stop was way more than necessary if there was anything else to do.

This package was just okay; there was nothing to rave about, but nothing went wrong either.

Boarding the bus was disorganized, and I felt a little cheated when a group behind us boarded with six tickets for four adults and four children - you do the math. The guide did not ensure that everyone could hear her.

We didn't have enough time to see the windmills after queuing to see the clogs being made. We could have used an extra hour. Everything else was wonderful.

We had too little time at Zaanse Schans. I could not visit the old house or windmill. I only saw the demonstration of the wood shoes.

We spent far too little time in both Zaanse Schans and Marken. The Zaanse Schans trip should have been at least two hours longer. To trap us in a wooden-shoe factory instead of seeing all the houses and windmills was an outrage! And the guide apparently liked her own voice - you could hardly say anything to your partner in the bus! Just three languages should be enough.

The organisation of the excursion and the guide were first-class, but we were very disappointed with the content of the trip. The cheese farm visit was good but we did not participate in the clog demonstration (as we had seen it before). We spent the additional time walking around the windmills - but having visited the area in the 1960s we were very disappointed with what was there to see. The visit to Volendam and Marchen were the same. Volendam is now just over commercialised.

Good but the cheese farm was very rushed and seemed set up only for tourists not authentic. Windmills also rushed. Guide was good. Scenery interesting.

Over priced and not very interesting although the clog making was excellent. Would have been better if all English speakers were in one coach.

Everything was well organized and informative, but the time allocation at each point was to short. I felt rushed all the time and didn't have time to really appreciate the atmosphere of every place.

The tour was beautiful and very enjoyable. We were disappointed with the Zaanse Schans portion of the trip. My husband wanted to book this trip because he was interested in seeing the inside of a windmill. When we arrived at Zaanse Schans we were ushered into a gift shop selling wooden shoes. There was a short presentation about the way the shoes were made. That was interesting, but it left no time to walk the great distance to the windmills or the village. We felt the tour guide should have informed us that we would not have time to see the demonstration and see the windmills. Many people made comments that we would have preferred an option since the time was so limited. Other than that , the tour was very nice. For elderly people there needs to be some type of transportation to the windmills and/or village. The walk was very long.

There was not sufficient time allowed to visit the site of the windmills.

This was a great tour but we spent too much time with the wooden shoes so there was no time to really see the Windmills. This was a great way to see the country and get a real feel for the Netherlands. This tour needs to last 1 more hour to get everything in.
