Itinerary
After pickup from your Antigua hotel, venture to the city of Cobán, approximately two hours northwest of Antigua. Hike through the forest of El Biotopto del Quetzal with your knowledgeable guide and keep an eye out for Guatemala’s native bird, the quetzal, and its national flower, the Monja Blanca orchid. After a fun, scenic 3-hour hike, take a lunch break (own expense) before heading to your Cobán hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy; explore the town, browse the local shops and restaurants, or simply relax at the hotel.

Day 2: (B)
After breakfast on your second day, head to Semuc Champey, home to hundreds of natural pools. Take a swim in the various pools or relax on the surrounding rocks. If you’re feeling adventurous, use the rocks as a natural water slide!
After a lunch break (own expense), visit Lanquin Caves. Part of a national park, these limestone caves are lit by lanterns, giving them a mysterious feel. Have fun swimming through the underground rivers and pools with your guide before being transported back to your Copán hotel.

Day 3: (B)
On your last day in central Guatemala, enjoy breakfast before visiting Rey Marcos Caves. Explore the large cave complex with your guide and admire the beautiful stalagmite and stalactite formations. After exploring these beautiful caves, enjoy a relaxing drive back to your hotel in Antigua.
