This was excellent! Lots of fun and an excellent way to meet people. I did the wine tasting and the dinner component. Both are worth doing. Wine and food was beautiful. I would highly recommend.
Truly an amazing experience. We participated in the sommelier class in addition to the empanada making class and both were superb. In the sommelier class we had a very enthusiastic teacher and we made three delicious drinks that were paired with tasty appetizer treats. We also tested our noses for various scents that are often found in Argentinian wines. Argentina is not all Malbec! Other wines are made in the country. Then we went upstairs to a beautiful loft dining room for the empanada class and dinner. The class was boisterous and fun, we learned a lot about Argentinian culture. Information we could use on our trip. Very helpful! The empanadas were super delicious. The dinner..... Best steak I have ever had in my life! And we ate a lot of steak during our two-week trip in Argentina. We made our own alfajores for desert and learned how to traditionally drink mate tea. A very memorable, fun night. We loved it!
This was a GREAT EVENT. It was what I did my first night in Buenos Aires and it was perfect. Tons of really good food, great hosts, met lots of interesting people. We learned a ton about the Argentinian culture and cuisine. I highly recommend this tour!!!
Really funny, nice environment, great people! Hands on preparing empanadas and learning about Argentine culture and hands talking. Food is great. The mixology class is not to miss in any case.
What a great night! Met all of our expectations and then exceeded them. We also enrolled in the pre dinner activity which included the wine cocktail mixology - canot wait to try some of the wine cocktails at home. At dinner there was lots of energy and conversation - especially during the empanada making competition. The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and fun. The steak was incredible.
Really not to be missed! Take the mixology part as well, as you can test your smelling ability by trying to guess different flavours and find out how to mix cocktails. The barristas are very fun and the different cocktails samples are very tasty. The food part is great as well, as it gives you info about Argentine traditions, food and wine, gestures and so on. You laugh a lot, eat a perfect meal, some of which (empanadas) are styled by yourself. The beef is cooked to perfection for each guests taste. It really was the best in BA! Our hosts were Fernando and Alex, both fun and very attentive. We really loved it! Even my husband, for whom it was the first encounter with cooking, was awed! Do it! It was one of our best experiences in BA together with the tango lessons we did with Lucia and Gerry!
We enjoyed all 5 hours of the evening! Great food, great hosts, great table mates and great wine.....lots and lots of wine!!
Incredible food, great people, lots of laughter! Especially enjoyed little touches like learning how an empanadas is shaped will tell you its contents, how to order how you'd like you steak cooked in Spanish, several important hand gestures and their meanings in Argentina, and the step by step way to prepare mate. I highly recommend the Argentine Experience!
Very cool! Wonderful staff, enjoyable meal, and in my opinion a true Argentina experience.
This is a must do. The wine and cocktail making was very fun. The empanadas and steaks were over the top!! Absolutely terrific.
by far the best experience in Buenos Aires. You get a bit of history, culture and great food, wine and drinks and an evening will never forget. I understand that this is not for everybody, if you want a quiet intimate dinner, this is not where you go; but if you like to meet people and share and learn new sensations this is it. The fact that the food and wine are extraordinary is just a bonus.
All of this is only half of the experience, the other half are the incredible people who are there to entertain you, instruct you and answer your questions. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and engage you in many ways. Last but not least in your experience is left to chance... Those are the people with whom you share this experience. We met some lovely people from Brazil, Denmark, Portland Oregon and there was also a group who clearly did not need to interact with strangers as they were all friends already. This team made everyone's experience a memorable and sensory rich event.
I recommend that you do both the wine and drink experience along with the empanada making , steak dinner experience. The first one gets you a bit thawed for the second as you ease into the company of the people you share this experience with. I wish that they expand this to other cultures around the world, I enjoyed it that much.
One of the most fabulous evenings we have had on a "tour". You will learn how to make wine-based cocktails ( delicious!), play an interesting game that tests your ability to smell all the notes in wine, join a group to make your own empanadas, eat one of the very best steaks we had in our 5 days BA, and have a blast while doing it! A fun, fun, fun experience! Don't miss it!
Absolutely incredible. The chefs/hosts (Alex and Amy) are extremely engaging and informative. The whole experience was fun as you get to speak with people from all over the world. Great little look into Argentine culture and its located in a hip neighborhood with no shortage of bars/clubs to go to afterwards. Definitely recommend.
We booked the event through viator, but the event was conducted by “The Argentine Experience.” Our hosts were from Britain and Argentina. The evening was quite a treat for us. We enjoyed making our own empanadas as well as eating them. Also, we had a fantastic steak dinner that was one of the best steaks that I have every eaten. During the event, we had discussions of local customs as well as tips on cooking. We enjoyed meeting and socializing with our table mates. It was a great way to spend the evening in Buenos Aires.
