To begin your private tour to the Taj Mahal, you will be collected from your hotel at 8am to drive to Agra and the world-famous Taj Mahal, 124 miles (200 kilometers) from Delhi. The sublimely beautiful Taj Mahal was built by the Moghul emperor Shahjehan in 1630 as a tomb for Queen Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child. The death of Mumtaz left the emperor so heartbroken that his hair is said to have turned gray overnight. Construction of the Taj began in the same year and was not completed until 1653.
You’ll spend the day exploring the beautiful Taj Mahal and enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice (at your own expense).
