Fantastic experience, for kids and adults both. One of our highlights in Athens. Loved Dorina, our guide.
We had a blast on the food tour. We went places that we would never have found on our own. We ate things that we might never have tried. This was our last activity in Greece. It was a great way to end our vacation!
Wonderful tour! The ladies were very welcoming and I would def go again! Great time and great food!
Vicky was our group's guide and she was excellent. We experienced a fascinating morning filled with Greek foods, markets, and culture. Lots of samples and sights! I was thrilled to be exposed to unique flavors and ideas and although I bought some things, I never felt obligated to buy. You can participate without spending extra, but you may want to. :- I especially enjoyed discovering some of the medicinal herbs/oils. Later I took my husband back to many of the places using the tour map and we enjoyed them all over again. Wonderful experience with an outstanding and sweet guide. Highly recommend.
Artemis was our guide in this food tour and she was enchanting. She introduce us to the real Athenians food. we loved this tour.
An excellent tour with Vicky. Her knowledge is second to none and the importance of Greek cuisine in society became very obvious. The selection of places we were taken and the wide variety of foods we tried were amazing and I thoroughly reccommend this tour if you have any interest in seeing an authentic side of Athens. There's history and politics involved as you learn how food is central to Greek culture and you'll see places that you might not otherwise visit as a tourist, but which certainly warrant a reurn trip at lesiure to sample their products more widely.
Please note, you WON'T need breakfast and you may want a snooze by the time you've finished! A perfect Saturday morning...
The tours gives a different perspective to the history of Greece through the cuisine, traditions, changes, influences of different important events. Despina is very knowledgable and makes sure every traveller is treated with care. Food tasted has been delicious.
AMAZING!!!! Best tour ever. We visited so many interesting and tasty places, and learned so much about the food. It was an easy walk, even in the cold, and the food and guide were outstanding! Our guide was Dorina Katsadoraki and she was superb!! She told us interesting facts, took us to interesting places, and gave us time to shop or by things at places we visited --such as the amazing spice shop and little grocery. Well worth the price! Make sure you do this tour when in Athens.
This tour was terrific! We only had six in the group. The guide was very knowledgeable and we saw shopping areas that we would have never discovered as tourist. We had great samples of foods as we moved from one location to the next.
We loved our small group food tour. This was one of our favorite days we spent in Athens. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this tour.
Dorina was a very spunky and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed every second and every bite of this tour. As with all food tours we have done so far: It is a lot of food. Come hungry :
Great walking tour took me to places, tastes, and insights that I would have missed. I'd gladly go again.
excellent tour. The guide was really interesting and well informed. Lots of tasty treats
Thanks Lyn and 3 others
Food tours are on of the best ways to get to know a city. We really enjoyed our time with our guide, Artemis. She was very personable, and knowledgeable about Greek foods and their origins. We were able to sample many foods, treats and drinks, and walk around some local neighborhoods. It was a great way to get a local flavor of the big city of Athens.
This was a great experience, really unique, fun and interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are in Athens.
Excellent way to see the non-tourist version of Athens' food scene. Convenient meeting spot outside the subway station. A very interesting and fun experience.
We had a great time! We loved the variety of the stops we made, from the corner vendor, the spice shop, the meat and fish markets, the store where we learned about a variety of Greek specific food to the wonderful restaurant where we finished with an amazing lunch. We would recommend this tour to all of our friends who want an authentic look at Greece and it's food. Our tour guide, Artemis, was wonderful. She was very informative, had a great sense of humor and seem well liked by the shop owners of the places we visited. Kudos!
This tour is amazing! I would recommend doing this to get a feel for the city and to taste some fabulous local food. Awesome
It was the best tour I have taken in Athens! Everyone should definitely take it so you can identify everything that is on the breakfast buffet. The guide was wonderful and very knowlegable. A great tour accompanied by delicious food!
Artemis was a personable and knowledgeable guide and we very much enjoyed this tour. It was a treat to be walking in street with few other tourists, seeing people just going about their daily lives, doing their shopping. The tour took us to places in Athens where we would not otherwise have gone. We tasted delicious olives, oil, cheese, wine and sweets and learned a lot about Greek and Turkish food. The visit to the spice shop was a highlight.
You visit where the locals eat and shop. Food was very tasty
Delicious! This is a great option for your second day or second visit to Athens. We visited several local stores and tasted a wide range of Greek foods. Focus was on the true local businesses and we felt very off the tourist track. Our guide was absolutely perfect - full of knowledge and able to answer all our questions, but also took very good care of our group. Five stars for sure!
One of the best food tours we've had, including several in Paris. The group was small about 15 and we ran the gamut of 10 worthwhile stops along the way. We sampled at each one and ended at a Taverna where we had tasty gyros. Our guide was knowledge, friendly, and overall superb. I highly recommend this food tour. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Athens.
N.B. The stops include brief visitd to the meat and fish markets, which may be a bit much for those who are squeamish or uncomfortable with unpleasant odors.
