Of all the tours I have booked through Viator in so many countries, this has to be the best. The tour was amazing and a big THANK YOU to Kostas for his tremendous wealth of knowledge and for sharing the most amazing hidden spots of Athens. The picnic was very nice with a breath taking view of the Acropolis. Too bad I didn't have time to do the food tour, but Kostas was so kind to take me to one of the local stores to buy the special Greek Krokos. Next time am visiting am definitely doing the walking tour again and the Food tour for sure.
The tour was amazing, I did not even mind the rain!!. I love Athens and all the history, so it was refreshing to discuss things of interest, with someone as knowledgeable as Costas is. The three hours went by so quickly, and the sites and scenes were wonderful. The picnic was a tremendous way to end the tour. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Athens, even if you have been there before.
WOW! What an experience! Firstly, a BIG thankyou to Kostas and our fellow walkers for waiting 20 minutes for us, as we had difficulty finding the rendezvous - our fault!
What followed was a fascinating, interesting, relaxed walk of almost 5 hours, stretched out because of the wonderful relaxed lunch at the end!
Kostas shared his experiences as a Presidential guard, the hidden gems away from the obvious tourist spots, and above all his PASSION for his work!
If you have the time, do not miss this experience! A thoroughly enjoyable Sunday morning!
This tour was the highlight of my week in Athens. I had the perfect guide. I believe his name is Thannous. He is extremely knowledgeable about the neighborhoods that we toured, art, architecture, the history of Athens and Greece and current issues. He is very polite and very much the gentleman. Our picnic was on the hill overlooking the Acropolis. It was absolutely wonderful. On my next visit to Athens, I plan on booking a tour involving theatre with him.
This was a fantastic tour, especially in the off season. My guide, Costas, tailored the tour to avoid the places where I had been already in Athens in order to show me new things while following the same basic planned path. He made the tour feel special by showing some of the lesser seen areas of Athens by tourists - places where you would unlikely ever go without a knowledgeable guide. I felt that the title is accurate, this was a 'hidden' walking tour and a lot of fun.
Amazing! Best tour ever! Tour guide was amazing! So grateful for this tour!
This tour is an absolute must. We learned so much from our guide Kostas. He is like a walking Greek encyclopedia, Kostas is an extremely charming and courteous young man with an extensive knowledge of Greece and it's history and is very proud of his country.
This tour really helps you get a greater understanding of the area and enables you to navigate much easier for the rest of your trip. Kostas takes his time and adjust the tour according to your wants and needs. We are in our 60's and he made this a leisurely tour with many stops and stories to entertain us.
When in Athens this is the best tour we took.....Mary and Brill from Texas
Restful, peaceful, informative and just the best way to see Athens and behind the tourist bits.
We really enjoyed this tour! Kostas is knowledgeable about most things Greek...the history, the politics, the people, the food, and shares his knowledge very enthusiastically. He is positive and upbeat about his country and it is obvious he loves his job. He prefers private tours, so it was just the three of us and he tailored the pace, as well as the discussions, to suit us. We had a great "typical" Greek picnic lunch in a beautiful, quiet spot with a view of the Acropolis to end the tour. A most enjoyable few hours and a wonderful introduction to Athens.
I have to say that this was the best tour we had in Athens....We were a group of just 5 persons and we felt that personal attention throughout the whole tour. Kostas, the tour guide/owner is very nice and he gave us an is-sight of not just the history of Athens but also on the current situation in Greece. He never rushed us and in fact the tour lasted an hour longer than planned!! He is very knowledgeable and also very passionate in his work. At the end, he prepared a nice lunch with Champagne and some traditional Greek food. 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.
The single best tour I have ever had. My guide, Kostas, was brilliant. Very informative, relaxed and warm and easy to get along with. He allowed me extra time in places I wanted to appreciate without ever making me feel rushed.
The experience of watching the sunset and the magic of the lights coming on at the Acropolis was the highlight, not just of the tour, but of my time in Athens. I would highly recommend this tour above any thing else available.
Guide was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. A nice walk through the touristy areas and back streets of Athens. I learned a lot!
A fantastic tour and must do for all visitors to Athens. Our guide, Kostas, was simply fantastic. He took us to hidden parts of the city most visitors will never see. He was knowledgable, a great communicator and had first hand experience of being a former guard. The lunch he provided was a fabulous taste of local food. The best tour of our holiday.
I specifically chose this tour for my family and was unsure if it would live up to the wonderful reviews. I shouldn't have worried because it was AMAZING. Kostas was a knowledgeable and personable guide who took us to places in Athens we never would have gone. The picnic on the hill, the walk through the National Gardens, and the visit to Socrates' cell were beyond my expectations. I highly suggest this tour for people who really want to see the true complexity of Athens!
This was a great walk throughout the back streets of old town Athens. Kostas, our guide, took us on a leisurely walk into places we wouldn't know to go and explained, with great passion, the significance of where we were and what we were seeing. The tour was changed to an evening tour, commencing at 5pm, and we were called in advance to tell us of the change. Due to the heat of the day it was good that we did this in the evening as we were walking a lot and at some points climbing some hills. Kostas prefers private tours and so it was perfect for my friend and I; Kostas is the owner of this small tour company and wants to provide personalized attention. He organized a further tour for us on another day that took us to the Parthenon with a guide who was a training archeologist.
