Marisa our guide was absolutely top notch. An unemployed archaeologist turned tour guide thanks to the recession she was an absolute fount of information as well as a fun guide. We walked at a reasonable pace and took in numerous sites which were entertainingly and informatively explained. Marisa linked in information that she had told us previously in to the new attractions. We had a wonderful picnic with a fabulous view of the Acropolis to top off the tour. One of the best guided tours I have ever taken.
We did 2 tours, one in the acropolis, and this walking tour.
We loved how this walking tour showed us some of the character of area around the acropolis.
Tour guide was knowledgeable and warmly shared his love of Greece.
We had a very enjoyable morning, and loved the picnic lunch with a great view of acropolis.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Our wonderful guide Kostas met us promptly and went on to show us parts of Athens we would never have seen and gave us unique and personal insights into the beautiful city. Kostas is so smart and personable that we felt truly like friends well before the end of the tour and so wished that he could come with us to Italy, where we were headed next. His passion for history and sharing the culture of his country, city, and people is immediately palpable. It is for this reason that he keeps his tours small and personal--we got him all to ourselves and he strives to keeps groups intimate. We walked the beautiful National Gardens, learned about the guards (and watched them change!) outside of Parliament, ordered traditional drinks to keep cool in the summer sun, learned about architecture, explored the hidden village under the Acropolis, and saw one of the best views in the city from Hadrian's Arch, to name a few. This tour is an absolute must for anyone who wants to live like an Athenian for a few perfect hours and learn all about the city's sites and sounds. My mother, an art history professor, my friend, and I (a school psychologist and high school English teacher respectively) continue to refer to this tour as a trip highlight! Thank you so so much, Kostas!
This was a truly lovely experience. A relaxed walk through the National Gardens and up through Plaka into "hidden"Athens, It was a part of Athens I would not have seen by myself - it is hidden! And so beautiful and peaceful. Then a lovely picnic lunch on Philopappou Hill looking over to the Acopolis. My guide Kostas was excellent and made the tour perfect. Loved it, highly recommend it.
This was a great tour Costas was very knowledgeable and fun to be around the lunch was delicious and he really new about Greek history I would really recommend this tour.
This tour was fantastic and a highlight of our visit to Athens. On a very hot day Kosta made this tour so enjoyable . We were the only couple so had a private tour , Kosta showed us areas we would never have found and provided information we would never have known . There were so many highlights , but to finish with a picnic of greek pastries and wine while overlooking the Acropolis was very special , we cannot recommend this tour high enough . Thank you Kosta
This Walking tour was the highlight of our stay in Athens. Our excellent Guide led our small group to special places within central Athens that we unaware of. We enjoyed the gardens, old Athens (Cycladic) streets, Mars Hill, a lovely picnic beneath the olive trees plus much more!! A fantastic few hours!!
A wonderful relaxed tour, with an amazing guide. Kostas gave us an insight into modern Greece, as well as its past history. We saw parts of Athens that we would not have found on our own, and he suggested other places for us to go. We found it so good, that we have recommended that our next school trip to Europe do this tour with Kostas. Well and truly worth the time and money.
No doubt about it, this tour is amazing! Our tour guide, Kostas, truly cares about giving you a one of a kind experience. We took this tour on our 3rd day in Athens, we had already done a good amount of sightseeing, but the different places we experienced were all right under our nose and we would not have found them without this tour. Truly worth booking this tour. The best part was watching the Acropolis light up in the evening under a full moon.
By far one of the best tours we have done in Europe so far. Good information and even better sights. Thankyou!
Costas is the owner and was our guide for thIs very personal and great tour.
He is very passionate, and proud to show what most tourists will never see in Athens.
We were only 4 people, which allowed a very personal, and enjoyable experience.
To top it of, he even provided a picnic meal overlooking the Acropolis, from a hidden area, which most tourists don't get to see.
I would strongly recommend this tour for those who want to see more of Athens from a passionate Athenian
This tour was outstanding! The guide was knowledgeable and provided excellent narration. We experienced a part of ancient Athens from a walking perspective with an excellent guide which was both educational and beautiful. The tour was a highlight of our four day visit to Athens.
This was the best tour I took my entire trip! I ended up being the only person on my tour so I had my guide, Costas, all to myself and he went above and beyond to make sure my tour was unique to me and that I got the most out of it. I couldn't have started my trip any better way than this tour!
An excellent and really enjoyable evening tour. It was a very genteel introduction to Plaka and the beautiful vistas of Athen's, with great photo opportunities along the way. Kostas who lead the tour was very upbeat, knowledgable, professional and incredibly helpful reference other interesting, delicious and fun places to visit whilst I was in Athens too.
Thank you Kostas, for one of the main highlights of my visit to Athens! Yes, I would recommend this tour to anyone who is planning to visit Athens - especially if they like taking photographs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with Costas on this wonderful walking tour. He showed us hidden corners of Athens that we never would have found by ourselves. He also showed us beautiful monuments complete with the history associated with the piece. He was always able to answer any of our questions and made the excursion interesting. We finished off our day with some lovely wine and pastries while overlooking the acropolis. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone looking to find more of the real Athens.
