You really need a guide with knowledge when you visit such a museum as this. We scored such a guide, it was obvious the guide had studied this era and was well informed and approachable to explain finer points. You can after the tour go back and look again at the points and issues the guide raised and really absorb the information the guide brought to light.
The guide spoke beautiful English and was extremely knowledgeable in Greek history and art history. We would definitely book through Viator again.
The tour and the guide were very good. No need to skip the line because there wasn't one. But we greatly enjoyed the tour's overview and expertise.
We loved the front of the line tour in English, as it allowed us to quickly and efficiently see the most important exhibits in the time we had. Our tour guide was also very good.
It would have been helpful if the website had initially indicated the time of the tour (11:45 am) so we knew this in advance. This is the only time during the day this tour is given, fyi. When we arrived at the museum, at first it appeared that no one knew of our tour. Given this, it might be helpful if the tour guide or someone else followed up with us and/or the museum ahead of time so they were expecting us when we arrived. As it was, we were not sure we were at the correct location until the guide showed up about noon (15 minutes after they were due per our receipt).
when visiting this city this musuem is a must! we were waiting for our guide who missed us at the point of meeting, the staff at the museum quickly found our guide and we had the rest of the time together. some confusion as to the meeting spot. 4 people were left waitng for 20 minutes! perhaps the guide needs to check off the list.
Our guide was very friendly and enthusiastic. However, it was often difficult to comprehend what she was trying to explain with her English. We may have done better with a headset tour in English.
The Tour Guide was very pleasant and clear to understand and very knowledgeable.
However, the tour only lasted about 1 hour. I did not realize that I would be joining a more comprehensive tour that was already in progress and delayed. Therefore the time to tour the Acropolis was limited due to the fact that the tour in progress had to stick to its schedule. I don't feel I received the best value for the money I spent.
The Acropolis Museum was great and well worth a trip. The day we went, the museum wasn't crowded at all, so the "skip the line" part of the tour didn't do anything for us. The tour guide was interesting, and we probably learned some things we wouldn't have without the guide. However, we skipped so many things in the museum to keep on schedule, that my family decided we would have done better without the tour.
This tour was advertised as approx 2 hrs in length but lasted only about 45 minutes. Was very disappointing. There was so much that could have been talked about. I would never have chosen this tour if I had known it was so short. Basically a waste of time.
Very disappointing, over 40 people on the tour and the duration was one hour, not two. The guide was very good, but good luck hearing her with such a crowd! My family only did the museum, but most of the people were from a continuing bus tour. The tour company didn't even have us on their museum tour list and had to call to confirm.
Started the tour 20 minutes late and it lasted only 20 minutes. Very little explanation. We joined the tour with a number of people that had been with the same guide at the Acropolis, so the guide glossed over items we had not seen, since we were not at the Acropolis with them. I would not recommend it.
