These are the craters in Taupa. It is well worth the visit. You can feel the heat underneath your feet as you walk along the wooden paths.
Gas Pools

There is a walking path that stretches alongside the gas pools. The path leads right into the town. If you wish for a shorter walk into town, go via the museum entrance.

This is a beautiful museum. It is a stone throw away from the hotel (beside the Spa).
