What You Can Expect

Auckland Helicopter Tour and Waiheke Island Winery Lunch

Depart from the downtown Auckland heliport at Mechanics Bay aboard a modern executive-style helicopter. A professional pilot offers commentary on the sights as you soar above the city center and the Auckland Harbour Bridge en route to Waiheke Island, situated in the picturesque Hauraki Gulf.

Soak up the aerial views before landing at the Waiheke winery of your choice for a relaxing lunch at Stonyridge, Te Whau or Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant (see options below; beverages are not included).

When it’s time to head back to Auckland, you can take a return scenic helicopter flight with drop-off at your hotel. Alternatively, be transferred by taxi from your vineyard restaurant to Matiatia Wharf and take a ferry across Hauraki Gulf to the Auckland ferry terminal, where your tour ends.

Stonyridge Vineyard & Restaurant:
Set in a valley overlooking picturesque olive groves and vineyards, Stonyridge’s three-course lunch features a menu of local tuna, lamb and beef, with the added zest of Pan-Asian flavors. Celebrate with sparkling wine or pair your meal with award-winning cabernet (own expense).

Te Whau Vineyard & Restaurant:
Situated on the eastern headland of Putiki Bay, Te Whau has a cliff-top setting with stunning 360-degree views of Hauraki Gulf and Auckland. The menu combines Pacific Rim cuisine and French technique, and features local venison, pork, oysters and lamb for your bistro-style three-course lunch.

Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant:
In an elevated setting above Church Bay, this elegant venue boasts fabulous vineyard vistas over rolling hills tumbling down to the sea. Look out over the entire island to the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland. Award-winning chefs at the romantically lit French Provincial–style restaurant feature specialties including local oysters and salmon, lamb, venison and beef.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended July 2015

Helicopter flight to winery and lunch at Mudbrick winery were wonderful. Weather was in our favor for helicopter ride from Auckland to the landing at the winery, but then it turned very rainy. The rain did not interfere with our outstanding lunch, but we were not able to get the views of Auckland we had hoped for on the ferry boat return to Auckland. However, that was not in your control or ours. All in all an unforgettable experience that we would recommend for anyone.

4 star rating: Recommended March 2015

Excellent! Pilot was great! Flight was really enjoyable (except for the weather - a bit dull). The meal at the Mud Brick winery was one of the best meals (if not the very best) I have ever had in my life! The only negative was the cost - on reflection, the whole tour/lunch seems overpriced.
