This is a great tour for nature lovers and as such I would call this an eco tour Our group turned out to be small just me and my wife. Our guide Tony was phenomenal, and very knowledgable. He knew the local flora and fauna in and out. The whole Coromandel Peninsula was stunning. Its one of the most beautiful places in the world. Our trip included an visit to rain forest where we hiked to a few 2000 yr old native Kauri trees. Along the way Tony kept us entertained by talking about a variety of subjects like nature, history, people of NZ etc. Lunch was @ a beautiful restaurant near hot water beach. Lunch was delicious and fresh. Hot water beach is unique in the fact that it has hot water spring on the beach. Its unique and has to be experienced. Overall this trip is highly recommended.
Most wonderful guide and very relaxing day. Treck down to Cathedral Cove is a must, albeit a bit strenuous.
The guide was very nice and courteous. The restaurant Hot Waves Cafe we had lunch was marvellous as well.
What an amazing day!! Sean is one of the most knowledgeable people I ever met. We've learned a lot that day and saw stunning landscapes. Thank you very much, Sean. The trip was awesome!
Just wonderful! I have been staying in New Zealand for ten months and this was one of the highlights. Such a beautiful area of the world, and Dawn was a brilliant guide too!
an absolutely fantastic day and a truly amazing place. I was only in NZ for one day, but I am hooked and I want to go back and see the rest of the country. The Coromandel was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Our guide, Sean, was absolutely brilliant - he made the day truly memorable. He worked really hard to make sure everyone had a great day.

Good tour of Coromandel and Cathedral cave. Spent more time driving than expected.
Plan to spend a lot of time in the van with twists and hairpin turns along the shoreline road. There were a few occasions where we experienced more of the local entertainment/events like the Bricker's train ride in the mountains complete with his art complex there.
The beach hot "tub" event was not to be due to "the high tides". It seems the van does not reach the beach until it is too late to experience the warm/hot spring fed beach area. Other than the train ride and a few quick photo stops, it was disappointing. A tiresome day.
The peninsula was beautiful but we booked this tour principally to dig in the sand and bathe in the hot water springs. It was very obvious that the driver did not want us to do this said his spade was still brand new. Surprise surprise we ran out of time. we did see the Cathedral rock but it was too strenuous for three of our bus load. I certainly only spent a few minutes down there before commencing the climb back up as I did not want to hold the others up. I feel strongly that these issues were not mentioned in your description. The bus driver was very polite but we did not want to hear either his life story or his singing. Very disappointing trip unlike the one the previous day to The bay of Islands where we had a fantastic driver who went out of his way to make sure everyone was catered for and told us many interesting facts about the area. Did not learn much on the Coramandel tour at all.
