Welcome to the "Bungle Bungles", a unique range which rises up to 578 metres above sea level. The Bungles are famous for their beehive shaped sandstone mounds which were only discovered as recently as the 1980's. come see these unusual rock formations for yourself.
The Bungle Bungle Range is located within Purnululu National Park which is 155 miles (250 kilometers) south of Kununurra. The area features the stunning mounds encased in silica and algae, which are said to look like a cluster of bee-hives from the air due to their shape and the orange and black coloring. You will also find picturesque gorges and pools, native wildlife.
Caused by millions of years of erosion, the Bungle Bungles is a sight not to be missed. This guided tour also provides you with the opportunity to take a breathtaking flight over this fascinating area.
This tour is seasonal and operates from April through to November.
Journey to the Bungles

Monday Departure Point: Tour departs from selected Kununarra hotels Departure Time: 6:00am Return details: Tour concludes in Kununurra at approximately 7:00pm on Day 2 Hotel Pickup: Hotel pick up is available from all Kununurra centrally located hotels. Please advise your full hotel name and address at time of booking. Itinerary: Day 1: Kununurra - Bungle Bungles (L, D)Depart Kununurra and drive via the scenic RAGGED RANGE to Turkey Creek, where you will enjoy a short stop. Head 53 km's to the turn off to the Bungle Bungles and another 53 km drive on a very scenic, but winding dirt road via the magnificent OSMAND RANGE. You will arrive in time for lunch at the Northern Gorges. Afternoon walks in ECHIDNA CHASM before arriving at our overnight camp on sunset.

Day 2: Bungle Bungles - Kununurra (B, L)
This morning head to the Southern end for a walk through the Bee Hive area of PICCANINNY CREEK and CATHEDRAL GORGE. Take an optional helicopter flight available today, AUD$250.00 gives the advantage to view these magnificent formations close up from the air.

Bush Camping:
The tours feature simple to erect safari tents with standing room and self inflating air mattresses are also provided. If you don't have your own sleeping bag, one may be hired for approximately AUD 20.00 per person. The campfire creates a wonderful atmosphere and is one of the great pleasures of camping in the bush, where passengers enjoy spinning a tale and sharing a laugh or song. All bush camping is fully self-contained, with equipment of the highest standard and stringently maintained, including a kitchen trailer. Bush camping is carried out with a strong commitment to conservation.
Meals:
Fresh food is prepared where possible, we endeavor to provide a healthy and varied menu. Breakfast is continental style, including toast, cereals, tea and coffee and fruit juice. Lunch is picnic style, including cold meats, salad or sandwiches and fruit. Dinner includes hot main meals and dessert. Many favorites to appear on the menu are camp oven roast, curries, pastas, satays and BBQs, with a variety of desserts. Don't forget to try the damper!
Vehicles:
Tours are conducted in custom built 4x4 vehicles and rugged safari coaches. The vehicles range in size from 5 to 23 seats, with forward facing seats, air conditioning, stereo and PA systems, two way radios and satellite phones ensuring a comfortable tour with medical assistance in remote areas.
