Our guide was friendly, well-informed, and engaging and the behind-the-scenes look at how the zoo's inhabitants are fed and housed was amazing.

There were only 3 of us on the tour, and as a result we were given ample time in all the areas. The koala and kangaroo experiences were most memorable, as was the tour of the "back workings" of the zoo.

The employee at the zoo was very knowledgeable about all the animals she took us to see. You cannot stroke the Koalas as it would be very stressful, but feeding the ostriches, opossums, tawny frogmouths and wallabies was great fun. The feathertail gliders are just adorable! If you want a close-up guided tour of the native animals by an expert, then this is well worth it.

The experience was very memorable. We were able to do even more than we expected. Going behind the scenes and meeting a wallaby, emu, bilby, potoroo, feather-tailed glider, etc. was amazing! Our tour guide was great as well!

The Wild Australia Experience was amazing, we had access to back of house zoo operations and were able to feed, touch, and hold several animals. Our zookeeper tour guide was excellent. Definitely one of our best days while visiting Sydney!

The tour guide was great. He showed us so many animals, and we got to feed and touch them as well. The tour size was small and very personal, with lots of information about the animals we visited. I would definitely recommend taking this tour if you really want to experience the most of your visit to the zoo.

Very interesting. Great one-on-one with the zoo managers in the pens and behind the scenes with the animals.

This was by far the highlight of my two week stay in Australia! I absolutely LOVED it! Our keeper was fantastic! He knew everything about everything but didn't prattle on like he had memorized it all out of a book. We went and saw the koalas first. You get to go in the koala enclosure so you get awesome photo opportunities, the zoo charges about 20 to get a picture, so make sure you take your own! When we went in the koalas were unusually active and jumping tree to tree and even came down on the ground! The Taronga Zoo doesn't allow anyone to touch their koalas as it stresses them out. Our keeper took us on a mini tour to the Tasmanian devils, dingoes, kangaroos etc. He took us into the kitchen of the Nocturnal house and showed us some pretty gross dead stuff...but still interesting. We actually got to go in and pet the bilbies and echidnas. We went in with the possums and bandicoot but didn't pet anything as the bandicoot was trying to bite our toes! At the end of the tour they take you to a cafe for a tea or coffee and dessert. They also give you some small souvenirs. Overall, the best time here on my entire trip! Bring very comfortable shoes, as I was there from 10am to 4pm.

Great experience that is NOT advertised at the zoo. We got to actually pet some animals that other zoo patrons could not access. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Fantastic - The guided tour was the ultimate - don't go unless you take it. The opportunity to feed & pet the animals and see the behind scenes was incredible. Pricing for this tour is a little more expensive but you can take photos of you with the animals - if you do separately costs $20 - and you have full access to the zoo after. Loved it - an amazing experience of Australia.

Excellent zoo. Tour was great to get up close to the koalas which was the highlight, along with the opportunity to see the kitchens, feed various animals. Great for the Kids and Adults alike. Knowledgeable keeper. Great start to any holiday in Sydney.

We had gone to Sydney via a safari in South Africa, and I was regretting booking this on the way, as we had loved the safari. But the kids loved this up close experience; we got longer than booked, and the keepers were just great. If you have young kids, book it! Ours are 11, 9, 7, and 4, and they all loved it.

It was great to get so close to the animals. We had a great time.

We fed wallabies, emus, long-nosed potaroos and had behind the scenes access that was the envy of other zoo visitors. My wife and I did this on the last day of our trip and it was a perfect ending.
