Our guide, Mario, was wonderful personable and knowledgeable. We enjoyed it very much and would recommend both the tour and Mario.
Probably the best tour we did in our 10 day trip. You should definitely take the time to do this. Again the guide made it very enjoyable. This was handled through Vienna Explorer. The group was small we had 7 people. The mini van was very comfortable. The trip to Melk was an hour long and enjoyed seeing the monastary. Then off to tast wine. Again our guide was very informed and the vineyards he chose were quite tasty. We got to see the countryside and stopped in the little town of Durnstein.
Great tour, Stelios was a wonderful guide. The lunch was just okay but the tastings and overall experience are a good experience.
Stelios the guide was fantastic, well informed about the history of the area and the wines of the region. Beautiful scenery and towns, trip around the abbey was great and the meal very tasty. Highly recommend to everyone
This tour was the best ever!!!! Our guide was so very knowledgeable and nice. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. I loved the small group - we could do so much and even had a wonderful lunch together.
This tour was just wonderful. We had a small group of 5. The countryside was great, the others on the tour were friendly and our guide was wonderful. Although I am not a lover of white wine, I truly enjoyed the ride in the country and the riverboat on the Danube.
WOW! What a superb tour! Our guide provided expert information/history on the way. Beautiful scenery, great wine, great food and a relaxing and breathtaking trip on the Danube. Highly recommend this small group tour.
Stelios our guide was fantastic, it was a well organised tour and it was great doing the tour with a small group. I recommend this tour to everyone!!
I couldn't have hoped for a more informative, passionate and helpful guide, Stelios. I joined the group as a solo traveler but immediately felt comfortable and actively involved in group conversations.
The itinerary was also well-planned and highlighted the unique beauty and bounties of the region
The guide provided a good pace, stopping at various wineries. We do not feel rushed during lunch time and overall, it was relaxing and sweet. The cruise time down the Danube was just right.
It was so much fun! Stelios was the best and made it interesting and light. He also improvised perfectly when the schedule didn't work out. I would recommend this trip to anyone!
This was a highlight of my two-week trip this summer. Stelios, our guide, was probably one of the most amazing, intelligent guides I have ever had on any tour with the accommodating personality to match. The scenic drive to the Wachau was lovely in a small Mercedes van with our group. The wines coming from the Wachau are really crisp and fresh, and the tastings were informative as each winery took its time in explaining its individual process to us. Lunch at a traditional tavern in the countryside was lovely. This is the perfect day trip from Vienna-- a must for all wine lovers!
We loved this trip and our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend to anyone who wants to see a bit of life outside of the city. What a great day.
WOW - this was the BEST thing about our trip to Vienna. What a great day out in the wine country, a great guide (I forgot his name, with an S), great group of people. Lunch was wonderful and the river cruise was the best ever! You MUST do this if you are in Vienna!! A nice day out of the city.
This was a great and fun tour. Your are transported in a confortable 10 passenger van. The winery's chosen were wonderful. One of the best parts was having lunch under this huge umbrella tree and sitting with our tour guide and our group. It is a must. Our tour guide was fantastic.
It's all about the guide...Stelios was extremely nice, made the little group of 7 feel good, and we had a wonderful day...Durnstein is gorgeous, wine tastings were enjoyable, boat ride to Melk abbey was a delight.
Really a must if you have time...and some money cause it's a rather expensive one.
This tour was fantastic. We had a group of 7, so we had a private tour led by Stelios. I could not have asked for a better experience. Stelios was very knowledgable and a ton of fun. Wine was delicious and the scenery was amazing.
The tour was beautiful, the tour guide, Megan, was very kind and professional, and everyone enjoyed it very much. A very lovely day.
We loved every minute of this tour. We were part of a group of six. We enjoyed traveling by van to the Wachau Valley. Lunch was excellent, and the two wineries we visited were first rate. The visit to Durnstein and the cruise on the Danube were highlights of the trip.

Great tour! Beautiful day and a very relaxing day away from bsuy Vienna. The wine tasting was very nice and the scenery awesome. Sailing on Danube River was a lovely way to break the day from driving. Only thing that could be improved would be to have time to see Stift Melk.
An excellent tour with an exceptional tour guide named Stelios. Very knowledgeable and courteous
This tour was absolutely wonderful and I will be recommending it to all of my visitors going forward! Alex was an excellent tour guide. He shared a wealth of information from personal knowledge and experiences (not memorized from a guide book like so many other tours). But the best part was the way it was delivered - Alex was very personable and down to earth, and so it was almost like having your close friend give you a tour of his home town. I cannot say enough about the beauty of the Wachau Valley. As we were in a small touring van (but with big windows for sightseeing) Alex was able to drive us directly through the heart of various winemaking villages and on winding roads in the mountains to scenic overlooks providing great photo opportunities. We really felt immersed in the culture and old world charm of the region. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone - even if you do not like wine. I wish that Viator offered additional options for small-group tours in Europe, we would take them all!! One side note - during the visit to one of the villages there is an optional hike up to a mountain top castle. The views are surreal and if you are physically able I highly recommend the trek. However, I recommend wearing tennis shoes! While we managed in flip-flops it was not ideal.
