A fabulous itinerary. My only suggestion would be to make it a full day tour with more time especially at the castle. The guide was excellent.
Went to beautiful sights in Provence while staying in Avignon. The tour was the highlight.
I highly recommend this tour for people who only have half day to explore Provence.
I took this half-day tour with 8 others in a mini-bus. Our driver and guide, Marc was very informative about Provence and chatted about it on our way to three sites: Pont du Gard, and the delightful villages of Gordes and Les Baux de Provence. For me the highlight was Pont du Gard which I have wanted to see for a long time, built by the Romans as part of the aqueduct serving Nimes. The two villages contrast each other and were memorable. Sufficient time was allowed for us to explore each of the sites and Marc gave us good advice regarding what to see as we independently explored the sites. Our tour was on a Monday so it omitted the village of Rousillon, which was a pity, but I only had the Monday free in Avignon. There is around 1 hour driving between each of the sites but this time was used by Marc to impart knowledge of Provence and to answer questions. This was a good tour, considering the time limit of half a day. The tour left me feeling hungry to see more of Provence, and a full-day tour might have been better if I had had the time but at least I did get the flavour of the place and had a good time. Marc advised us that private tours can be taken and these can be tailored around the wishes of the clients - not a bad idea.

It was exactly what I was looking for; transport, a little local info and time to explore independently.
An excellent afternoon tour of Provence, stopping at various places on the way to walk around and take photographs.A very informative and pleasant driver/guide. Really worth the money!!
The half day tour of Provence was excellent. We were picked up at the appropriate time and the travel guide was knowledgeable and friendly. There is, however, always the dilemma between seeing a host of different, interesting sights versus the actual amount of time being allowed to appreciate all those sights. Whilst we loved the tour as a whole, we did feel that we were time pressured and would perhaps have liked, say half an hour longer at each stop. Altogther, though, we would recommend this wholeheartedly to other travellers.
Our best day in Avignon was this tour of the small outlying villages. Be sure to include Rousillon in your itinerary--beautiful orange and yellow ochre stone, charming village, and lavender ice cream. Gordes is so picturesque you could spend a whole day there, though we just had an hour visit. Our favorite village was Les Baux with its medieval chateau, impressive bauxite rock formations, and caves. We went back after the tour to see the art and light show in the caves -- wonderful! Our guide was Nicolas, who was so friendly and informative and helpful!
This was really fun. It was a good group and a very good guide. The sights were wonderful.
Enjoyed every village and especially the commentary from out tour guide. Great value for money.
It is highly recommended, Elody our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It's a winter tour but we enjoyed it.
Overall, the half-day trip was great. Our guide was good and knowledgable of the region. He spoke excellent english. I would recommend this half-day trip for anyone staying in Avignon who would like to see some of the sights in surrounding Provence. It would have been nice to have more time in Les Baux en Provence so we could have explored the castle ruins longer. Overall, a great side trip and well worth the cost!
Carol, our tour guide and drive, was terrific and she made sure I made it to Avignon TGV that same evening for my train back to Paris which was the last one from Avignon. The three villages were the best I have ever been too in Provence and the Pont du Gard was spectacular. Worth every minute of the tour!
We were looking to see several hilltop villages in the Avignon area and decided on this tour. We took the tour that took us to Roussillion, Gordes, Les Baux de Provence and the Pont du Gard. As usual with these types of trips, there is never enough time at any one place. But, the great advantage is that one gets to see many places without trying to navigate back roads by yourself. We were able to see these 3 amazing villages and spectacular bridge in the space of one afternoon. These places are located to the east, south and west of Avignon but we did not feel that we were in the vehicle very long between stops and the tour was well paced. Our tour guide was fabulous as she identified a number of points of interest along our journey. Pick up and drop off were at locations close and convenient to our hotel. We certainly felt it was a good investment of our time. We also felt that the cost was very reasonable considering what it would have cost to rent a car for a day plus the added cost of petrol and mileage charges (let alone the driving and navigating). If you are interested in seeing a number of locations in a short period of time, we would highly recommend this tour.
The guide was very knowledgeable, and helpful. would use your services again.
Had a great trip, our guide very knowlegeable. Picked up on time, we visited 3 villages and the bridge and had 40 minutes at each stop. I would use them again as very efficient.
A day that could have been a disaster turned out OK. I had booked an afternoon tour of Provence that started in Avignon. I knew if i took the 10h14 train from Montpellier, where i was spending the month of July, I'd arrive in plenty of time for the 13h pickup. Turned out there was a bit of malveillance (lit: malevolence) on the train route and the 10h14 train was cancelled. I called Viator just to let them know that I wouldn't be there and, as i expected, they said they couldn't refund my money as it was a same-day cancellation but suggested i find out if the railway was providing an alternate (e.g., bus) transport to Avignon.Ii went back to the train station where I found out the 12h14 train to Avignon was on the schedule but it wouldn't arrive until 20 minutes after the 13h00 pickup time for the tour. Another call to Viator and, after a short time on hold, they offered to re-book me on another tour with a 14h00 pickup time. a shorter tour, which undoubtedly cost less money, but i was very pleased with some pretty excellent customer service.Tthey didn't have to do that and I didn't even have to ask for it.
The later tour didn't stop in Roussillon or Gordes, but included les Baux and Pont du Gard. The guide was very well-informed and spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend either tour. (I've been on the earlier one in previous years.)
I don't generally like tour groups. However, I would have gladly taken this tour again the next day too! Virginia, our tour guide, was unbelievably wonderful. She absolutely made our time with her the best part of our stay in Provence. The sites were lovely and she got us to and from safely and efficiently. We would do it again in a heartbeat!
This was an excellent tour. The tour guide was very passionate and knowledgable about the 3 villages we visited in the afternoon. She went out of her way to make sure we saw the main sites on our tour and dropped us back to our desired locations on time. A tour not to be missed. The tour guide Caroline was excellent.
Solene was our driver and she was fantastic. Friendly, funny, knowledgable. I felt completely safe with her driving. All 3 villages and the Pont du Gard were amazing. Better than I expected!
