What You Can Expect

Sounds of Silence Restaurant

Sounds of Silence

Take part in a quintessential Outback-style dining experience in Australia's Red Centre at the Sounds of Silence dinner, situated against the vibrant backdrop of Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park.

You’re picked up from the Ayers Rock Resort approximately 45 minutes before sunset and transferred to a viewing platform that overlooks Australia’s famous monoliths. Start with a glass of chilled sparkling wine and bite into a spread of canapés as you listen to the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo. Watch the vivid colors of sunset reflected in the desert and capture classic photos of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Then head to the formal dining area, elegantly decorated with white tablecloths, candles and heat lamps nearby to keep the chill away as the stars come out. Get acquainted with visitors from around the world while you dine on a 3-course buffet dinner. Your meal may include Australian delicacies such as kangaroo, barramundi, crocodile and quandong (a native fruit). Throughout your meal, attentive waitstaff come to your table to refill your glass with unlimited Australian wine and beer.

Watch a performance by traditional Aboriginal dancers and then settle in for an after-dinner talk by an expert star-gazer who helps identify planets and constellations. After the presentation, take a closer look at the night skies of the Southern Hemisphere through a high-quality telescope.

Your spectacular evening ends with return transport to your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation.

Please note: You do not require a National Park entrance ticket to attend the dinner

The whole night was memorable from the canapes to welcome us,the meal with good company, the very good talk about the stars/jupiter the end came to quickly. It could have been clearer so we saw more stars but when you book you take your chance.

An excellent evening with both the view and the dinner superb. Only disappointment was the cloud cover which made the star gazing rather difficult.

A very nice evening with a great location and good food and beverage. Unfortunately it was a stormy night with lightening in the area which meant the star gazing aspect was understandably limited.

This was a lovely evening, watching the sunset change the colours over Uluru
and set over Kata Tjuta. The food and drink where excellent, and there was plenty of both !!!
The use of a laser pen by the guide when pointing out the different stars was a good idea.

Would definitely recommend this tour.
