Uluru, or Ayers Rock as it is more commonly known, has been attracting visitors for years and now you can experience the wonder and majesty of this mighty monolith. Watch the colors change on Uluru as the sun rises, before ascending the steep climb in the footsteps of thousands before you. An awesome experience of this magical place.

Upon arrival at the base of Uluru before sunrise, enjoy breakfast (included) and watch the sunrise from the "sunrise viewing area". Once you have completed your breakfast, you may proceed to the start of your unguided climb. Ascend Uluru and take in the magnificent panoramic views from your climb. This climb is unescorted. You will complete the climb on your own.

Upon returning to the base, your guide will return for you to take you to Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before returning to the Ayers Rock Resort.

The Uluru climb is the traditional route taken by ancestral Mala men upon their arrival to Uluru during the creation period. Anangu do not climb Uluru because of its great spiritual significance.

Whilst climbing is allowed, the Anangu people (traditional owners) prefer that people do not climb. If on the day you decide not to climb Uluru, you are welcome to join the Spirit of Uluru for alternative touring around the base and a culturally rich experience.

  • Climbing Uluru is very strenuous and only those with excellent fitness should participate.
  • No guide to escort clients to the top. Climbing is at client's own risk!
