Six of us climbed the rock which was a brilliant experience, however we were left to find our own way back. The wording of the tour was misleading as the operators weren't interested in you if you actually wanted to climb, the other 4 did the bus tour not offered walking alternative which was informative but rushed. Breakfast was varied and plentiful no need to eat before leaving like some of us did.

Unfortunately The Rock was closed on the morning of our booked climb and from what I had read on the Viator website I thought we had the choice to join either the Uluru Base Walk or The Spirit of Uluru if our climb did not go ahead. Unknown to us, the coach that we were put on were all travellers doing The Spirit of Uluru. The Base Walk group was on another coach and had left earlier so really the decision had been made for us - and this is definitely not what I would have chosen. I think the assumption could have been made that if we had elected to do the climb then we were fairly active people and consequently a coach based tour of The Rock was probably not going to be our second option. The tour itself was quite informative however we would have much preferred to be a part of what was happening outside the coach.

This was terrible! The climb was not taking place, so as advertised, we thought we would get a guided walk instead. We were very wrong - we were driven around the rock, got out for 5 minutes and that was it. Plus, we were picked up too late to watch the complete sunrise. By the time we arrived at the lookout point, it was daylight. Not recommended, a very bad tour indeed!!!
