Bangkok Grand Palace and River of Kings Canal Cruise Small-Group Tour

Bangkok Grand Palace and River of Kings Canal Cruise Small Group Tour

After meeting your guide you’ll board a longtail boat for a trip down the Chao Phraya River, translated as the River of Kings. Explore the khlongs (canals) of Bangkok and get a glimpse into the past as you learn about what was once a vast network providing transport throughout the city once known as the ‘'Venice of the East.’

After the boat journey, continue on with a walk to Wat Pho for a guided tour of this impressive temple complex, which lies at the heart of Buddhism in Thailand. Home to the Reclining Buddha, the largest reclining Buddha image in Bangkok, Wat Pho was the country’s first public university and still functions as a center of learning for traditional Thai massage and medicines.

Your half-day tour concludes at the Grand Palace, which formerly served as the official residence of the King of Siam. Follow your guide on foot through the complex, built in 1782, and stand in awe before the revered Emerald Buddha — Thailand’s holiest religious statue carved from jade — housed in Wat Phra Kaew.

Afterward, you can continue exploring on your own, or your guide will assist you in getting a taxi back to your hotel.

4 things we love about this tour! 1 The guide - Our guide arrived promptly at meeting point and i asked if we could take a tuk tuk to the grand palace as my husband has never taken one and he was very kind in obliging. 2 The grand palace is gorgeously magnificent! i have been to Bangkok like over 5 times and never once thought something so beautiful was hiding in the midst of this city. 3 The reclining Buddha was huge and beautiful! 4 Loved the long-tail canal ride - it was so fun! The overall experience was just fantastic and well-worth the money.

This entire tour was great, so much to see in so little time, you need 3 days to see it, but the experience with our guide was great, she did not rush, was patient and explained and answered all of our questions, again love the idea of small group and feel it was personable for us. Great job and tour

I had the best and most knowledgeable guide Ms. Gof as she truly knew
her facts and data that I even used on later tours. She gave me a very quick
info on the area that we were going to visit, history of Thailand and key points and customs about the
city and answered all of my questions. Even though I was running late
as I could not find a taxi driver that wanted to drive downtown and
I had allowed an hour commute time (traffic in downtown Bangkok made LA
look good) and could not believe that the drivers would pass up a fare. Anyway,
my only suggestion would be to ADD transportation option to this tour if you are staying outside of the downton area.
of the d

outside of the immediate downtown area.
