The elephant ride and being able to feed my elephant were life experiences. Riding the oxcart and seeing the Khao Yai waterfall were icing on the cake. My fellow tourists were nice people, too.

A very memorable excursion indeed!
We left Bangkok by minivan about 7.00 am. Our first stop was a market in the Thai countryside. I have never seen anything like it. Virtually every creature known to man and beast was for sale in this market, many of which are, apparently, delicacies in Thai cuisine!
We then proceeded to a farm where we had a forty minute drive on ox cart, through rice paddies and farmland. Really stunning views, though insect repellant highly recommended unless not bothered by the odd mosquito.
Next stop the Khao Yai national park. The only disappointment of the day in that the term 'national park' suggests lots of animals. Not so in this case. Apart from a few deer and monkeys, we didn't see any flock or herd of anything worth writing home about. We were taken to see a fabulous waterfall. The descent to near the base of the waterfall is via a set of very steep steps - not so much a problem going down, but coming up a major physical challenge. Definitely not to be recommended for the physically unfit tourist long overdue a visit to the gym!
Next stop lunch, followed quickly by the elephant ride. Probably the highlight of my visit to Thailand. Very friendly animals. I just loved their company. They are practically human!. But I have heard tell that they are practically tortured into submitting to the will of their owners, hence their friendliness, so not sure my elephant ride was politcally correct.
Finally, back to the minivan and the ride back to Bangkok.

A very long day, we were not taken back to our hotel lobby (driver took wrong turn ,so we got off and walked through the shopping area to get back, we were offered to be driven there but traffic was horrid) ,after talking to the people on our trip I paid well over the price for our tour, so very annoyed,"Low price Guaranteed" I don't think so. Any way it was a lovely day, enjoyed everything we did and saw,the guide was lovely and so was the driver, just one more thing the lunch was tasty but not enough of it all the lads on the trip were very hungry and considering how early everyone was up, so I do think that needs to be looked at, I had my 19yr son with me and the others were in their mid 20's to 30's they were starving.

Awesome! Lots of stops along the way to keep you interested (local market, waterfall, ox cart ride). The local guide was very friendly and welcomed questions. Elephant ride was fun! We even got to ride the elephant like a king!

FANTASTIC!!!! This is the most wonderful trip, and worth every cent. The ride on the elephant is an absolute highlight and it was very long. The ox cart ride was great, along with the restuarant meal.....no complaints at all. It was along day, but well worth it.

Great fun, especially toward the end when we were able to ride outside of the basket. Traffic in Thailand is a little crazy, but we were fortunate and booked on a holiday, otherwise it could have taken 2-4 hours to get back into the city.

Our trip was great! Our tour guide Peter was top-notch. He give us a lot of information on the history of Thailand and the culture while we traveled to different places.
The elephant ride was really fun and our guide took as many photos as we wanted. The ox cart was interesting but our weather was tooo hot. National park was really pretty. We would highly recommend this trip!

Had a lovely day, our guide was very informative and very polite. The package was exactly what it said it was, was only disappointed about the rainy weather when we had the elephant ride, but our guide was well prepared and had rain coats for us. The food was very tasty and well deserved after a long day. I would very much recommend it!!!

Great trip. The stop at the market was very interesting. The ox cart ride was fun. We didn't walk down all the steps to the waterfall since it was the dry season and it was very hot but some of the people did and said it wasn't worth it this time of the year. Stopped to see the monkeys which was a lot of fun watching the babies playing and seeing them try to sneak up on us. Of course the elephant ride was the highlight of the trip. Our Mahoot didn't speak much English but was able to tell us a little about the elephant we were riding, he was very polite, took a lot of pictures of us and was very patient while we fed 'our' elephant bananas and took pictures after the ride.
