I THOUGHT TOUR THE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE TOUR COMPANY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB IN PRESENTING THIS TOUR.I FEEL IF YOU VISIT BANGKOK THIS IS ONE YOU NEED TO DO.THE SUMMER GARDEN WERE WONDERFUL AND THE TEMPLES TOO.THE RIVER BOAT AND LUNCH WAS A GOOD WAY TO COMPLETE THIS TOUR.A GREAT TOUR TO TAKE IN BANGKOK.
The Viator tour people were very accomodating and picked the three of us up at our hotel (The Ambassador) even though it was not on their listed hotels for pickup. The
tour was wonderful and the buffet on the return ship was excellent.
Excellent day. Very knowledgable tour guide. Could have more time in the Summer Palace instead of visiting 3 different temples. The visit to the ruined temple and the Sleeping Buddha was worth visiting. But the other wat, which I could not remember the name could be omitted and the time used for this visit be slotted in for the Summer Palace would be a bonus.
Worth every penny! A great tour guide -- very knowledgeable, courteous, fun and helpful!
excellent tour and value for money, our tour guide Donna was very informative and has great sense of humour.
One day trip seems to be a very appropriate length for a visit to Ayutthaya. It provides great sights to Thailand's history. A very well organised tour including the cruise on the Chao Praya river.
Great tour! So much info given and got to see a lot. The tour guide was really great (can't remember his name though). The lunch cruise was a nice way to end. Definitely something to see. Check out my blog if you have any questions liyapilly.com.
1)Short hotel pick up time. To avoid traffic jam and making too many stops, they had a mini-van picking up tourists to the central gathering spot with the big tour bus
2)Tour guide was friendly
Office telephone seems to be not working.
I would recommend this tour to my friends.
There were many Budhas to see on this tour. Our tour guide was very imformative. The part of the tour we liked the best were the Summer Palace Buildings. We rented a golf cart for 400BMT. This was well worth the money, since you were able to quickly get from place to place. We did not miss one building or landscaping display. The buffet on the cruise was very good and the seating was comfortable with large windows to enjoy the views. We enjoyed that it was air-conditioned. The Tang Festival was starting tomorrow (11/28/2012). We were able to see the floats up close. These were the same floats we saw illuminated on the dinner cruise later that night.
Awesome trip! The best way to see Ayutthaya. We learned so much about the sites, and Thailand in general, from Krit, our guide. The boat ride is a little boring, but you see Thai lifestyles you may not see otherwise.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he was proud to share Thailand's culture and history with the guests. Very good tour!
Our tour guide was very entertaining and professional. We found the trip very enjoyable, its just a shame it couldn't be longer.
our tour guide "Donna" was fantastic, she had a great local knowledge and passion for what she was doing. `There was a problem with the coach that was to take us but was overcome by using the minibuses and the coach picked us up on time for the trip to ayutthaya. highly recommended
Wonderful! The day was hot, and humid - everything Thailand is known for, but to stand in those ruins, and see for yourself those things you've only ever looked at in books before... Magical.
It is great to see other cultures and the life styles they live. This was a great tour to get a taste of the way different people live. Amazing the way they drive and how few accidents they have.
was wonderful trip the boat ride back was very nice the sites are beautiful and everything was organized very well
I really enjoyed this trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and funny. She did'nt need to be funny as she seemed uncomfortable! Just one recommendation with regards to the lunch on the barge - people should realize that if they don't take the main course first they might'nt be enough left - all the potatoes were gone by the time I got mine
This wasa great day tour as it had a bit of everything for the seasoned traveller - scenic coach trip into the hinterland, a visit to the Kings Summer Palace, visits to several ofg Ayutthaya's 12-14c brick built temple complexes, and completed by a 2 hour river cruise back to Bangkok, and a great buffet lunch. The Summer Palace was a wonderful complex gardens, ornate bridges, temples and lakes. The Ayutthaya temples complexes were spectacular, one with one of the largest stone reclining buddhas in the world. The boat trip enabled us to see many of the major temples and historic buildings in Bangkok and was a very leisurely way to finish a great trip.
I loved this tour. Our guide was great - very professional yet funny, and full of information on all aspects of Thailands history, politics and current affairs. The Ayutthaya temples were just wonderful (I would have liked more time here though), the Summer Palace was a lot of fun - we hired the golf buggy to make sure we got around it all, and the river cruise back to Bangkok was relaxing with a nice buffet lunch. Overall a great day out and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
An enjoyable tour that run for about 8 hours. After pick up transfer To an air conditioned bus you have a one hour drive to the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace which is stunning with a European feel. You have about 1.5 hours here and you can hire a mini cart for getting around the grounds but I wouldn't recommend it as you miss the guides commentary.
Next is Wat Maha That which is over 600 years old and nearly totally destroyed by war with Burma. Then it is onto Wat Na Phra Mane Temple with golden Buddha. Lastly you visit Wat Lokayasutharam for the reclining Buddha. Note dress appropriately for a visit to temples (cover knees and shoulders).
The cruise down Chao Phraya River. The buffet is extensive and there is a later coffee and biscuit break as well. Ferry is air conditioned inside, okay viewing area outside. Transfer back to hotel worked went well too and I listed a hotel not on the list.
A must to better understand Thailand / Siam history and to get out of Bangkok. Recommend.
