Tour wa great and tour guide was great. She helped fill in the background information for both places and was knowledgeable about each as well. Plus she was pleasant and engaging for all of us on the tour.
Absolutely a really nice tour ! Our guide was very informative, knew her history and has lived in Barcelona for about ten years. Monteserrat and La Sagrada are a must see in our opinion while in Barcelona. One can only be in awe of Gaudis masterpiece. The inside is stunning and skipping the line is the way to go. Plenty of time to enjoy both on a half day tour. Montserrat setting is beautiful. Enjoyed our time at both !
Excellent guide. We had a detailed commentary on both sites, and plenty of free time to spend inside the Sagrada Familia by ourselves, and to do some shopping in the cathedral shop. Skip the Line was definitely the way to go - the queue for other visitors was very long - at least an hour to get in. At Monserrat we again had ample free time to take photos and do shopping etc. We visited late in the day so the queue for the black Madonna was very short. Our guide suggested that if we wanted to take the cable car that we do it on the way down, which we did, and the bus met us at the bottom. On the bus trip up the mountain we had a commentary on the monastery. The tour started at 12.30pm and we were dropped off at Christopher Columbus monument (close to cruise ships) at about 6.30pm. If you have limited time in Barcelona and want to do one or two sites well rather than a fleeting look at lots of sites, then this is a good option. The only negative comment would be that the bus was old and needed some mechanical work.
Not to have to wait in line at the Sagrada Familia was well worth the price of the ticket. And Monserrat is beautiful. The driver drove very well on the windy road to Monserrat.
Searching the net for top spots to visit before we left, the 2 main places to see were Montserrat and the Sagrada Familia. And this tour had them both. Both excellent choices! Our guide was great and very informative! The ticket prices online are cheaper than buying them there, and the line that we got to skip for the Sagrada Familia was wrapped around the building (at least a 2 hour wait!). The tour was a little over 6 hours, but after visiting both, we wished we would have done a full day...
Wonderful tour! Tour guide was very knowledgable and tour company was flexible as we missed our scheduled tour!
OMG - cant say enough about this place. We were thinking we would be disappointed to think that our day was ruined to the cloud coverage that morning, only to realize that Montserrat was higher that the clouds and the views up there were wonderful. The morning tour was best, before the crowds arrived and we could have easily spent an entire day there. Take the funicular ride up the mountain and enjoy some of the best views around.
To top everything off, our guide was very colorful and provided alot of good information. Lydia was a great guide and would seek her out again to do another tour.
Very organized complemented with very knowledgable guide. Montserrat itself is very beautiful and safe to say that it is one of the highlights of our trip in Spain. Of course the skip-the-line ticket to La Sagrada Familia is definitely worth it, given the long queue just outside of the church. Highly recommended
We actually had a private tour for our party of 6, since no one else signed up for our time! Take the Cable Car Ride, it's a great view and only around 7 euro/pp. Our guide (Belair) was very nice, knowledgeable and knew the best way, strategically, to make the most of our time at Monserrat. If you wait in line to see the statue of "The Black Virgin," make sure you go into the small chapel behind the altar. Once back to Sagrada Familia, Belair escorted us to security at the front of the line to make sure we were in without any issues. "Skip-the-Line" is the way to see Sagrada Familia, as the line is an hour, or more. We booked the 8:30 am tour which was tough with 4 teenagers, but definitely was the way to go. The monestary was peaceful and serene when we arrived. By the time we were leaving, tour buses were just arriving with 3,000 tourists.
Excellent tour. Only 4 of us and our guide was informative and then tailored our trip to allow us to do the things we most wanted to do, and at the same time, included all the parts described in the tour package of the 2 sites.
Our tour guide Lydia was great! If you have an extra day in Barcelona go see Montserrant
Great guide. Good to have a small group of people. You learn more this way. Good value for your money. Also helps to be able beat the long line of people waiting to buy tickets. Highly recommend.
Loved this trip! Our guide was new, but she was very well educated! We could tell she knew what she was talking about. On our trip we were the only ones, it fit well since we were on our Honeymoon! She gave us plenty of time to view the sagrada familia, and the Monserrat! A must to skip the lines!!!
Great tour. Our tour guide, Nikolas, was fabulous! He was very informative and catered our tour to us. He was very patient with our children (10 and 13) and was willing to answer every question they had. We took the optional funicular ride to the top. I would recommend this ride to any one going to Montserrat. The price of this tour was worth every penny when we arrived at La Sagrada Familia and saw the long line of tourists waiting to purchase their entrance tickets (the wait was 2 hours long). We will use Viator for future trips.
