Ava Maria Teresa Montserrat, our tour guide, was fabulous. She was a wealth of knowledge and her English was excellent. Our bus driver was very skillful in manoevuring the winding road leading up to Montserrat. The history of the Basilica is very interesting, architecture and views incredible, not to mention the unique appearance of the mountain. Ample free time to explore on your own, check out the shops and have lunch at one of the on-site locations.
Absolutely amazing! Definitely worth a visit.
The tour was very well organised and the guide was very informative.
We decided to go on the afternoon tour and take the cog wheel train. It gave us fantastic opportunities for great photos.
The liquer tasting at the conclusion was a bonus!
Loved this tour.....guide was knowledgable and spoke great english and very very informative and caring.
The tour was well organised and most informative...After being pick-pocketed the guide was most helpful and organised with the monserrat security to contact me..She could not do enough for me...many thanks to her.
Apart from that we had a wonderful day up there...
I booked this trip for my family. All I heard from the Adult kids is "why do we have to do this." Well they haven't stopped talking about it since. This was one of the best things we did in Barcelona. They actually wanted to stay longer. There is so much to see that 4 hours was just not enough. We didn't even have time to go up and see the Black Virgin. We could see her from a distance but not actually go up and touch her. This would have definitely been worth it. If we travel back to Barcelona in the future we will get a car and drive to the mountain and spend the day here just exploring. It was spectacular. Don't miss it.
Loved this tour and the really good guide we had. Beautiful monastery in an awesome setting. Don't miss it.
Absolutely amazing! The ascent to the top via the train was breathtaking! We enjoyed the history and the Basilica. The afternoon trip was perfect after the long flight from the US. I would recommend this half day trip to anyone who wants to avoid the huge crowds as it afforded us the time to see most everything at a more leisurely pace. Our guide whose name fails me at this moment was refreshing and informative and we really enjoyed her!
This was an easy way to visit Monserrat, I had researched public transport and found it wasn't simple to get there. The views are amazing and the cloisters, church and the black Madonna well worth a visit. We took a 3.00pm tour and it was very chilly at Monserrat, in summer I recommend you bring a light jacket. Our guide Anna was great, she knowledgeably explained the history of Monserrat.
