We had a fabulous time. Maria our chef was charming and patient. Our fellow participants (mostly from Chicago) made the evening memorable. We picked up a couple of new cooking techniques and recipes...all the while tasting some very good spanish wines. I would encourage all visitors to Barcelona to give this cooking class a try. It's a fun way to spend an evening with like minded travellers.

What fun! David our chef was terrific. We all learned so much. The tour with David to the market was an education in how to pick the best produce and seafood. Everyone visiting Barcelona should take the cooking class.
Maria was an excellent teacher! The equipment in the kitchen is top-of-the-line and I've already made one of the things she taught us how to make. Thanks for the cooking tips!
Would highly recommend this tour. Was a lot of fun, and the food was delicious!
THIS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP TO SPAIN. HAD A GREAT TIME IN A WONDERFUL ATMOSPHERE WHILE LEARNING HOW TO COOK A NUMBER OF SPANISH DISHES. THE CHEF DAVID MADE IT FUN AS WELL AS DELICIOUS.
A fun experience with a small group of fellow tourists. We started with a visit to the spectacular Boqueria market and ended up with a four course meal prepared by us all accompanied by several glasses of wine.
I didn't especially enjoy the paella that we made but the rest of the food was great.
It was an excellent day that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Great fun shopping with Quim at the Boqueria and enjoyed learning to cook Catalan cuisine and eating such delicious food!! A great experience!
Booked last minute before we left for Barcelona and we were very pleased with the entire cooking event. Our Chef Sara made the evening very friendly, fun and informative. Our 11 year old son had a great time as well. He got to torch the Creme Catalan....with supervision of course. Highly recommend this event to all who love a little hands on and dining experience all in one.
Fantastic! David, the chef, was terrific! He planed a wonderful menu from h'orderves to yummy dessert-
Everyone was encouraged to participate- the highlight was learning the ins and outs of making paella-
You don't have to be a gourmet cook to enjoy the evening- great dinner prepared and enjoyed by all-
Highly recommend it!
Would really recommend this class and the walk trough the market to buy the ingredients for anyone interested in Spanish food. Teacher/chef was very patient with anyone struggling to prepare the food and all of the dishes were very tasty. It was a great experience.
Being a novice- it was a fun night where I learned not only cooking skills but presentation skills! The instructor was patient and very knowledgable ... Highly recommend!
Absolutely wonderful experience in the able hands of Maria, who went through the basics of Catalan cooking; the rest of us went through several bottles of Catalan red wine, as the class was concluded with a dinner, set in the kitchen where the battle had been won, with the food we had prepared ourselves. Bravo!
This is a must do.
My mother and I had a fabulous time at this class. We were together with 6 other students from around the world. The class started with a trip to La Boqueria market a "must see" when in Barcelona, where we purchased ingredients for our meal.We then returned to the kitchen and started cooking. Ana our teacher was wonderfully patient and full of great information. I can't wait to recreate all of the recipes at home!
Our Cooking Class experience in Barcelona was a delight from start to finish. We signed up for the additional trip to the market, which we highly recommend. We had visited the market (an experience not to be missed) several times, but to do so with a chef was to see it in an entirely new light. Shopping for cuttlefish for the seafood paella was certainly new! Our chef explained the things he was buying and answered our myriad questions.
The meal we prepared had four elements--seafood paella with cuttlefish, prawns, mussels and other tasty bit (an a way of cooking rice we hadn't seen before), crème catalunya, gazpacho and a hors d'oeuvre of vegetables and delicious nora peppers. Our chef ensured everyone had a role in the preparation and the meal was absolutely delicious.
One of the best element was the camaraderie that developed among the group. We were an American couple, and there was an English couple, an American family (whose early-mid teen girls were pulled right into the meal preparation by the chef and into the conversation by everyone else), a young Canadian couple and a young Swedish couple. We all shared a love of (or at least strong interest in) cooking and learning about new cultures. It was really fun to compare notes on their experiences in Barcelona. The class and most of the conversation was in English.
We did the class on our final night in the city after a week's visit, and it was a great way to end the trip. In our view, this is an experience we can highly recommend.
