The tour was everything we hoped for and then some. My hi-lite was Canada house and standing on the very landing site of our hero's .
Although we would have preferred a full-day tour (which is only available on Tuesdays), our guide Magali made this a truly memorable afternoon. She took us to Juneau Beach, showed us the bunkers and explained how that infamous day unfolded. We also saw Canada House before making our way to the cemetery, which was a very sobering experience, to say the least. It was also nice to spend time at the museum and see some of the artifacts and multi-media presentation. A great tour indeed!!
Excellent....we had a most enjoyable bonus when the owner of the house on the beach at Juno beach, down from Courseulles sur mer, better known as Canada House, invited us in and gave us an enlightening "tour" as he explained the house belonged to his grandfather, was taken and used by the Germans, and retaken by Canadians as they hit the beach. Eventually, his family regained the house which is now his home.
The tour was a very informative and moving experience. Doing the tour with a small group of people and a knowledgeable guide is the only way to go.
The guide met us on time at the train station in Bayeux and and returned us on time to catch our train. He was a very competent and safe driver. He maintained his schedule without rushing the tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and personally very engaging. His English skills were very good. He took us to the major Canadian sites and skillfully and sensitively helped us appreciate the drama and pathos of those terrible days.
I really enjoyed this very informative and emotional tour. Our guide, Jean-Francois was very knowledgeable and obviously had a passion for the history of Normandy. He had pictures and maps to help us understand what happened during that terrible time in history. The Juno Beach Centre was informative and is currently showing an emotional film called "They Walk With You". We visited the Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery and the Abbey d'Ardenne, both were very emotional, but a great tribute to the sacrifices made by our soldiers. My only regret is that we did not book a full day tour. We took the direct train from Paris and our guide met us at the Bayeux train station. It is a very small station so very easy to meet up. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Our guide was knowledgable, friendly and courteous. He made the tour very interesting. We love it and would highly recommend our guide unfortunately I can't remember his name.
Absolutely great tour...guide Mag was fluent in English, full of details about WW2 invasion, had grown up in the region and was full of general knowledge. Our tour was for up to 8 people in the van, turned out to be only our group of 4.....so just perfect for us !!!! We toured on 9th of June, lots of flags still visible ,,,but no crowds, great tour !! Perfect weather too......very good value for this tour.
Our tour guide, Sunny, was fantastic. Due to D-Day ceremonies and preparations, we couldn't go to all of the regularly-scheduled tour stops, but Sunny customized a new itinerary for us and made sure we got the full experience. We loved hearing her stories of growing up in the Normandy area, and of the D-Day celebrations over the years. The small group size was perfect, and the vehicle was clean and comfy.
Our Bayeux tour was a complete success. I can't speak highly enough of Mathieu, our guide for the day.
We were looking for a short and focused tour that focused on the Canadian role in WWII and visiting relevant historical sites. Specifically, we wanted to visit Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, where my great uncle was buried. This tour fit the bill perfectly.
Mathieu picked up our small group of eight Canadians at the train station and we immediately set off into the countryside. Mathieu speaks English well and has a fun personality, and we all got along well. We fit a lot into our five hours together, including a stop at the Bay of Arromanches, time walking along Juno Beach, and a visit to the Juno Beach Centre, admission to which was included in the cost of this tour. (Advice: be sure to manage your time inside the centre.)
I was thrilled to visit the cemetery where my great-uncle is buried. I had looked up the location of his tombstone on the web, so quickly found it upon our arrival. That was a touching moment for the tour.
In terms of logistics, given our tight travel schedule, we wanted a tour short enough that we could do it as a day trip from Paris. This one worked quite well - we took an 8:45 am train out of Paris, which arrived in time to allow us to walk into town (under 10 min walk) for lunch. Mathieu picked us up at the train station at 1 pm and we were back shortly after 6 pm. As we had booked a 7:22 pm return train, we had plenty of time to head to a pub in town for dinner and a beer, before heading back to the station and Paris.
We'd like to return to Bayeux one day and spend more time there, but for now, this tour was exactly what we wanted. The registration process was easy and the experience was professional. We highly recommend this tour - a highlight of our trip to France.
This was a fantastic tour. Our tour guide Ann Sophie, was incredibly knowledgeable about the Canadian landing and various other historic points of interest. My Dad landed on Juno Beach June 6 as a member of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles it was a dream come true for me! Thank-you to Ann Sophie and the Normandy Battlefields tour for making this a day we will never forget. Kitty and Kevin.
Great tour! The guide picked us up promptly from the Bayeux train station and was extremely knowledgeable about all of the Canadian WWII sites. We liked that it was a small group, as it was more personal. We enjoyed the Juno Beach Museum and learning about the area's history. I'd recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Canadian WWII history.
Sylvain was marvellous in every respect and we feel so lucky to have had him as our guide. His knowledge
of everything to do with the pre-during-post D Day history and happenings is obviously broad and he imparts information clearly, concisely, with use of some excellent visuals such as photos and diagrams. He did not seem rushed in the least and was only keeping an eye on the time to be sure those on the tour with a train to catch would not be late. He is enthusiastic and very personable...just could not say enough positive things about him and about our tour. Thanks very much to him - and to your company.
We had an excellent experience. Our guide was very knowledgable about the history pertaining to the Canadian troops and their efforts on DDay. We would highly recommend this tour.

Our experience on our Canadian World War 11 Sites was more than we could have dreamed of and then some. Our tour guide, Mattiew, was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating to our small group. Our uncle is buried in the Canadian Cemetery at Beny-Sur-Mer and we were able to pay respects and give thanks. I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Paris and suggest that you request Mattiew if that is possible. The train ride was about 2 1/2 hours and was very comfortable.
