Highly recommend! Great insite, excellent explanations and knowable tour guide.
Meg was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. We loved all the history and stories that she was able to provide.
We enjoyed the tour very much. The tour guide was prompt picking us up at our hotel and he was extremely knowledgable about the D- Day invasion. We had visited the American Cemetery the previous evening when no one was there at the end of the day and it was a different experience compared to the morning of the tour where the ground maintence workers were using their leaf blowers and there were many more visitors. Given that I would clearly recommend the tour if you only have a half day to devout in the region.
Didn't end up taking the tour because my whole group was not able to attend. Did rent a car and drive from Paris... about 25 Euro in tolls there. Absolutely amazing experience and will go back again if given the chance. What a great fourth of july!
This tour is recommended if you only have half a day. The tour covers Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary. The commentary of the guide was comprehensive and gave us a true sense of the Allies' acheivements and sacrifice. Take the full day tour if you want more.
Jean Francois was exceptional. He arrived a few minutes early to pick us up at our hotel. His English was fluent. He had many images in a notebook to accompany what he was explaining which gave extra insight into the facts of the day. He was flexible and eager to please. He took time to essentially give the tour twice since our group included an older gal who used two crutches due to recent knee surgeries. He kept us moving along and then went back to her, to explain everything. Very professional and courteous!
Outstanding tour, The guide was very good and easy to understand and knew the history well.
Beth was our tour guide, and she was hands down, the best tour guide we've ever had- thanks Beth for making Berlin so memorable- Kate and Lou Brannan
Great trip overall. Our guide was informative and answered all our inquisitive questions. I would recommend this tour if you have only a short amount of time.
Excellent trip. The guide knew her history very well and gave all of us a complete tour with everything that was important on D Day. She spoke good English was was fairly easy to understand. When asked questions she knew the answers. In all, a
The Tour was great. Our guide was wonderful and new so many interesting facts and details about D-Day and the area .as an Smerican I am now better informed about such a crucial part of American and World history. It is onebofvtge highlights of our trip to France.
Highly recommend this tour if you have limited time and wish to focus on the american experience surrounding D-Day.
If you want to visit Normandy and understand what it was like for the landing troops and the French living there, then you either need to devote hours to reading, or get on one of these trips. Our guide had an unbelievable wealth of knowledge and made the beaches and countryside, come alive. You then go to pay your respects at the American Cemetery, which everyone should be made to go and see, only seeing all those graves really brings home what those guys gave up for us. We should never forget. Great trip.
Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. It was cold and windy but the tour include Point du Hoc and Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary. Our tour guide Philip was informative and engaging. It was a moving experience.
Very well organized, knowledgeable guide, just the right size group.
The tour was amazing and our guide, Francois was so informative!
Great tour. Very informative. Our guide was friendly, easy-going and very respectful regarding the tour content. He answered questions without any problem. I did the half-day tour and enjoyed it but the full day tour may have been even more comprehensive. For the half-day tour, we focused on Omaha and Utah Beaches, Pointe du Hoc and the cemetery. Very moving.
What a wonderful experience we had on our tour to Normandy. The hotel accommodations were excellent. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Our tour guide, David, met us at the hotel and began our audio tour to the beaches of Normandy and the Cemetery. David was extremely well versed in the history of World War II and the affect of the war on the community of Bayeux. He had many pictures he had researched to share with us. He was able to answer all questions any of us in the group had, including a 12-year old boy who in very interested in the war and especially the area of Normandy. David was very patient with us and allowed us to take our time to appreciate the opportunity of visiting this amazing area. Our visit to the Memorial Cemetery was very moving and again David had much to tell us.
It was a beautiful day and we were able to enjoy our time there.
Thank you very much for the opportunity.
Extremely knowledgable guide, readily answered questions . Tour length was perfect. Very informative and exactly what we hoped for.
We were fortunate to be the only 4 people on this tour during low season. Felt like we had all of Normandy to ourselves ! Our guide was absolutely brilliant. Non-stop interesting, factual information about the WWII battlegrounds and related history. I can assure you we would recommend this same tour to others.
Wonderful tour. Guide was excellent, had family ties to Normandy and spoke Engish very well. We stayed in Caen but wished we had stayed in Bayeux which looked like a small quaint town. Cane is a city and a 20 minute train ride from Bayeux. Definitely recommend half day tour.
Our half day was well worth it with only a couple of days in Bayeux (which is such abeautiful, friendly town). Adeline (I hope I spelt that correctly) was so informative. You see and hear a lot of documentaries, but being there is quite something else. It was December and we were blessed with a sunny day and absolutely no other visitors around....it really was a reverant experience. If you and it's winter, rug up.
This was the perfect tour for our short stay in Bayeux. Our guide Mag was great and very knowledgeable of all the history of Bayeux and the D Day invasion of Normandy in June 1944. We got to see some of the key places such as Pointe du Hoc, Omaha beach and the American cemetery as well as some of the small villages surrounding the area. We still had time at each place to get out and take pictures and walk the beaches and the cemetery grounds. We would highly recommend this tour if you only have a half day.
The four of us were promptly picked up at our hotel! This was very helpful for us.
We had a great tour guide who had knowledge of the history and locations
of the Omaha Beach and the surrounding area.
We all had a great time, learned a lot and were able to ask questions also.
Tour was well worth the money.
