What You Can Expect
Mont St Michel, France
Mont Saint-Michel is a rocky island just off the coast of Normandy. The well-preserved abbey from which the island takes its name dates back to the 8th century, and since then, buildings in many architectural styles have been added to the island, resulting in a diverse collection of architecture that you will explore as you walk through the winding streets. Visit the abbey’s ramparts, and then browse the shops and stop by the island's museum. Make sure to also take in the views over the bay.
Then visit one of the creperies and treat yourself to a crepe – try the regional specialty, a galette bretonne (a buckwheat pancake with a savory filling). There are also numerous restaurants where you can enjoy lunch (own expense); try the seafood of the region, fresh from the fishermen's morning catch.

My group of six had a great tour of Mont St Michel and St Malo. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the sites. We were picked up at our chateau on time and it met all our expectations. It was first class and I would recommend it to anyone.

Our guide was very good, sometimes a bit hard to understand. The whole day was a great experience - wonderful scenery, informative conversation and went out of her way to please us. Maybe this tour should only be advertised as Mont St Michel because our tour guide right from the start said we may not get to St Malo - but we were keen to do so - and we did, getting back about 30 minutes after advertised return time.
