Beijing Classic Full-Day Tour including the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven

Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square

Your full-day tour starts at Tiananmen Square to explore China's more recent history, influenced by Chairman Mao and the rise of communism. From there it's on to the Forbidden City, built by Emperor Yong Le during the Ming Dynasty, and the seat of power for centuries. It has seen countless battles and reconstruction, and the architecture seen today dates from the 1700s. The Forbidden City is also known as the Imperial Palace Museum, with the history of every dynasty represented in four palatial halls.

After a delicious lunch, it's on to the Temple of Heaven, China's largest temple and altar complex. This extraordinary example of religious architecture dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Your final destination is the Summer Palace, the retreat of emperors for 800 years. One of Beijing's finest parks surrounds the palace, and you'll be able to explore the grounds, temples and the world's longest art gallery.

It was a long day, but this is the best way to see the main sights of Beijing in one day. The tour coordinates ticket admission at each site, which in itself was worth the price of the tour.

Victoria was our tour guide, and she did a fantastic job.

This was a great tour and a fantastic way to see the top sites in Beijing that are usually very busy and difficult to move around. Jackie was a very informative tour guide and there photograph opportunities that I don't think were available with the other tours running that day around the Forbidden City in particular. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic experience. The scenery was amazing and the transportation to and from the sites was exceptional. The thing that really made this tour a forever lasting memory was our Guide Jackie. He was a fantastic guide, and virtually a walking encyclopedia concerning China's vast history. He explained all the details of every site in excellent English. He was very humorous, very personable and just a guy you enjoyed spending a day with. If you go to some place and leave that place with a desire to return and experience it again you have likely had a great time and that is the way we feel about this tour and our guide Jackie Excellent tour.

A compact trip that brought us to see all the must see and must do of Beijing. Our guide was friendly, animated, although we did have a bit of difficulty understanding her when she spoke too fast at times. The bus was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful sights and amazing tour guide! Our guide Jackie did everything he could to try and explain as much as he could about the history of each place we visited and as he pointed out the significance of these places the sights became even more fascinating. He was also very enthusiastic about taking pictures which was really helpful and kind of him. There is a lot of walking involved in the tour so if there is some way for him to incorporate more sitting when he is explaining that would be most helpful. He gets a little carried away with trying to show as much as possible but if you want extra time at any place, you just have to ask and he is very accommodating.

Our guide, Jacky, was very enthusiastic and proud of his Chinese history. As well as the listed places to visit we also went to a silk factory genuine silk and a pearl market. we also had a plentiful Chinese lunch. All these places were very interesting and well worth seeing. There were just 9 people on this tour which made it very personal.

An excellent tour despite the early start! Our guide, William, was helpful, informative and fun to be with. We were a group of 3 and the only ones on the tour so he had plenty of time to give us lots of information about the places we visited. He spoke excellent English and willingly took lots of photos of us so we have memories of our trip. I thoroughly recommend this tour as a great way to see the major sights in Beijing.
