Guatemala's Tikal National Park is a carefully restored area of jungle ruins with an amazing collection of carvings and buildings. Nestled in the dense jungles of the Peten region of Guatemala, the site has been extensively excavated and restored, and is probably the most recognized of all Mayan ruins. At the start of the Classic Period, Tikal went to war with neighboring Caracol and was defeated, but many carved monuments and temple survive.
Your day trip to Guatemala begins with a short ride to the mainland to transfer from Belize City to the international airport for Immigration clearance, followed by immediate flight connections to Flores, Peten in Guatemala. Here the majestic Maya ruins of Tikal (Maya for “Place of Voices”) awaits you.
Guides will accompany you on the road journey to and from the site, and provide fully guided services while at the site. A hot local lunch is included.
