This was a really interesting and informative tour. Darren is a great guide because he is so enthusiastic about German history. I thought I knew a lot about this topic but I learned a lot more.
Emily was a fantastic guide! She covered the basics, gave lot of context, and pro ided colir and depth with her stories. She went long with our permission and we really appreciated her unique and comprehensive perspective.
very interesting tour and excellent tour guide Alex who is very knowledgeable and gives the material in a very fascinating way! highly recommended
Our guide Scottish guy whose name i sadly have forgotten was excellent! Very knowledgeable, full of interest and anecdotes and really interesting. I would totally recommend the tour. Enough history to keep my history buff husband happy but accessible to me, whose knowledge was poor before the trip. Really brought the whole place to life and explained things we had wondered about previously. Lots of our questions answered and more .It was freezing cold, so wrap up warm and wear sensible footwear.
A very worthwhile and interesting tour into Berlin's history. Myself and partner thoroughly enjoyed the tour by Caroline who was extremely informative and clearly very knowledgeable and delivered it in a personal way. However, we were a bit confused as to why we met at Zoological Gardens?? When most of the tour was in East Mitte. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Loved this tour. Very interesting. Our guide was knowledgable and friendly.
First rate tour, not to be missed. Very knowledgeable and enthusiatic guide (even in the cold and rain).
Alex the American tour guide was a wealth of information and insight and the tour was both fascinating, educational and thought provoking and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Finn our guide was extremely knowledgable of the subject. We had quite a large group but he took the time to answer all our questions. He took us to see things that you would not of noticed if you had walked round Berlin on your own. The tour was due to last only three hours but in the end was over five, this was a bonus as you felt you weren't rushed from one place to another and was given time to appreciate what you were being shown and take full advantage of Finns knowledge. He also gave great tips on other things to do in Berlin but wasn't a pushy sales man. He is an asset to the tour company he works for. Just remember to take food and drink on the tour.
Our guide, Dennis, was brilliant. he showed us so much and explained the story behind everything we saw. He answered all and any questions and was instructive and amusing. We would highly recommend him.
Great day with Finn! Learned so much about Berlin and it's darker days. I loved the introduction round at the beginning it was a great icebreaker and got people from different nations communicating with one another during the tour. Thanks for the book tip Finn, grey wolf is a good read
This tour was one of the best we have taken. Nicely paced and hitting on so many fascinating places. Our guide Rick couldn't have been better. He was extremely knowledgeable and his passion for what he was doing was very obvious that he inspired all those on the tour to ask more questions and as such we all learned much more then if it had been a prerecorded tour. We can not recommend this tour enough.
5 stars easily.
Only one criticism. The meeting point should be near the first stop on the tour instead of having to meet at another location far away. It was too time consuming going to one place then having to get on the underground to go to another place several stops and one transfer away to begin the tour. In our case the tour actually began only two blocks from where we started before taking the subway to the meeting point near the zoo.
Fascinating tour. I took this tour on my 5th day in Berlin after a lot of exploring on my own, so I wondered how much I would get out of it. The answer was: a LOT. So much I didn't know. Rick was very knowledgeable, and the tour was pretty comprehensive for a half day. Rick was also very informative about the whole issue of how Germany addresses its Nazi past and how it educates its young people, and how this issue has evolved over the decades. So, all in all, totally worthwhile.
Dennis was without doubt the best tour guide I have ever had ....a must !!! But ask for Dennis
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and our Guide Kevin was full of information and related his knwoledge with clarity.
Dennis was great, as expected some sites are gone but he made the most of what was there and telling in detail how the Third Riech rose to power and why the people fell for it.
It was very good! Very knowledgeable guide, Finn. We saw and learned so much. Only complaint was that Finn walked too fast for us older folks. But he always waited until we caught up before he began talking.
My son and I did the Third Reich Walking Tour last Tuesday, 9th September, 2014.
The tour guide was John, maybe Johnny, an English youngster who looked more like a surfer than a guide from Berlin. He 's such a charming person, his knowledge on this subject is outstanding, and he is a credit to your company.
10 out of 10. He is superb youngster.
There were 6 of my family on this tour. Our guide was Ryan, a Scotsman from Glasgow. He was fantastic. Very knowledgeable. For example, we had seen the Jewish Memorial a couple of days before and really could not make heads or tails of it rather than it being different sized graves. He gave us various themes on what it all meant and it was very thought provoking.
Given the somber nature of this time in history, Ryan clearly painted a picture on how the Third Reich came to be, how it stayed in power, and then how it lost its way.
It was interesting to me how architecture played a role in demonstrating the power of the Third Reich. He also was not just Third Reich centric. He talked of the architecture that has been built, and is continuing to be built in Berlin today, and the themes in it.
A fascinating tour of the history. Ryan made it come to life.
Kevin the tour guide was very knowledgeable and always friendly in his descriptions and explanations of the historical design and atrocities of the Nazi world. We travelled through relevant areas and finished the tour at the remnant site of the SS which is now a museum with open displays of certain details. The history of Warsaw was the topic on the day of the tour. There is also a small and enclosed film studio showing how ravaged the city was during WWII. These exhibits were free and highly recommended.
Overall, I highly recommend anyone with any historical interest to take this tour.
