In my 5 years of taking tours throughout Europe, Barnaby was by far the best tour guide I have ever had! The Cold War walking tour of Berlin was very informative with the right amount of humor thrown in.
Excellent!! Excellent! Would give it 6-stars if i could!
Interesting and fun! A lot of stories that makes you feel you were there :
Tarek was our guide and gave an excellent tour - it was very interesting to visit many areas relating to the cold war and to hear more about what really happened here at that time. Checkpoint Charley was not included in the tour - but we visited it the day before on our other tour.
Great tour! Ron was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a real pleasure to learn from. Whilst the tour focused on Cold War history, it actually covered much more than that and at the end of the five hours (ran over a tad...!) we had a much greater understanding of Berlin's history. Recommend!
This tour was great! Loved the guide - she kept us fully engaged for the whole tour- Ashleigh was able to give us facts and figures and showed her passion for here! We enjoyed her tour so much we changed plans for next day so we could go on another tour with her- as did a couple of others!
Great, great tour. Worth every minute. If you are at all interested in history this is a great way to spend a few hours. Our guide was Barnaby and he knows his history and how to explain it to non-historians. He will tell you how Karl Marx and a banana shortage in Nov 1989 are related. You see all the major Cold War places and understand at the end how silly and tragic the whole splitting of Germany and Berlin really was. They have other tours as well. We took the Potsdam tour the next day and that was a hit as well. Do it!
Our tour guide Michael was very knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommended!
The guide on this tour was wonderful He came fully prepared with pictures and an ipad. He was really enthusiastic and intersting It was a bit long but was most informative.
Our guide Michael did an excellent job setting the scene and subsequently taking us on the tour. His knowledge and delivery were second to none :-).
A great tour, very highly recommended!
Brilliant tour exceeded what we expected. In depth knowledge and stories of the Cold War. Would totally recommend it to anyone interested in the Cold War and East/West Germany conflict.
Amazing tour, our tour guide, Tarek, was interesting and passionate about not only the Cold War History but also keen to help us see and experience the modern Berlin. Thoroughly recommend this amazing tour!
Fantastic tour and really brought alive by our excellent guide Nigel Dunkley. His knowledge and experience was second to none. This tour is a must when in Berlin.
Our tour guide was energetic enthused and made the 4.5 hours go in a flash. The tour was easy walking and covered a great insight into the life and times of the East and West, the Stasi and the history of the development of Berlin. Just do it....!
Our guide was called Michael and the tour was amazing! I am german and learned so much and I saw so many places I haven't seen before although it was my 5th time in Berlin. I would recommend this tour to everyone, also to germans who speak a little english.
Great tour! Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgable and informative. The stories that he told about the various sites in East Berlin were interesting, sometimes funny, sometimes sad. He kept us walking at a fairly quick pace, so there was no dawdling. Even so, our tour lasted 4.5 hrs rather than 4 which was fine. It was a fantastic tour with a superb guide.
Excellent Tour - enjoyable and our guide Nicoli was fantastic.
On Saturday we had rain forcast, but only a slight drizzle in the AM.
This turned out to be a personal tour for us.
GREAT! Highly recommend,
Remember SOMEONE is always watching YOU!
I found the tour very informative. Maise was very knowledgeable as our guide and gave us an in depth picture of Berlin during the Cold War. What I had read and heard at the time could be more visibly pcitured visiting the sights of where all took place in Berlin. Thank you.
Highlight of my Berlin visit! What a fantastic tour guide Alyschia is. I would recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Berlin. Without out a doubt this is a comprehensive review of the official and personal history of this turbulent time.
This was without any doubt one of the best days of my visit to Berlin. Our tour guide Nigel Dunkley was very entertaining and incredibly engaging, having lived (and served in the forces) in Berlin throughout the whole post war/cold war period he had a unique insight into the history and happenings in the city and the country as a whole. The tour starts with a short bus ride then the amount of walking slowly ramps up as the tour proceeds; at each location visited Nigel would tell us fascinating stories along with the history and his personal insight which made the tour feel far more personal and an absolute joy to be on. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, if you only do one tour on your visit do this one, just bring some comfortable shoes and an enquiring mind as you'll learn a thing or two and Nigel loves to answer any questions you can fire at him!
