Your walking tour will also shed light on those who struggled and resisted against the Nazi system of terror. Learn all about the German resistance movement, whose central figures were Claus von Stauffenberg, Henning von Tresckow and Hans Oster.
As you walk through these important historical sites, get a feel for how life was for Berlin's citizens at that time. Your knowledgeable guide will tell you all about how the Nazis rose to power, about Hitler's Lebensraum policy -- the disturbing political ideology that led to the Holocaust -- and about the path to war and Europe's destruction.
A great tour! Our charming guide JJ delivered an excellent balance of incredibly interesting WWII facts and untold stories combined with just the right touch of intellectual humor. Thank you Viator and JJ.
This was an excellent walking and historical tour. JJ, our host, was fantastic and exceptionally well informed. highly recommend it to anyone interested in history and who enjoys walking.
Lots of history and walking. Great tour.
Barnaby was outstanding made the Hitler's last days come alive and he did this with great humor one of the more enjoyable tours we have taken. Dana Kirby
Barnaby was AWESOME! He was very knowledgeable and funny. We had been recommended this tour from friend's of ours' who had recently been to Berlin. It was a really great FREE tour. All they ask are for tips which they so deserve.
This tour is what we were looking for. Even though there were about 25 people in our group, everyone stayed together. Our guide was fabulous. Even though much of Berlin has been reconstructed, our guide was excellent at either showing us photos of the devastation, or explaining how the buildings looked after the bombing. Absolutely would promote this tour operator and their knowledgeable staff.
Michael, our guide, was excellent. We had a very large group, but he led it well and provided an excellent and compelling narrative.
Taylor, the guide, was very knowledgable and passionate about his subject. I found the tour very enjoyable, but there is a lot of walking - especially on a hot day. I learned a lot about the Third Reich.
Our knowledgeable tour guide , Taylor, led us through the sites of the Berlin of the Second World war, leading us to places we never would have found on our own. He gave us the history of each area and presented an unbiased account of the era. I would highly recommend it.
our guide, Taylor, enhanced the whole experience with his knowledge and presentation. this was my second time taking this tour and always find something new. highly recommended
