Potsdam Half-Day Trip from Berlin

Departing from central Berlin, travel by luxury air-conditioned coach to the city of Potsdam, capital of the German state of Brandenburg. Often referred to as Germany's most beautiful city, Potsdam is steeped in European history and royal tradition, giving it a cultural ambience that is rarely found elsewhere.

On the way, get an introduction to Potsdam’s history and the architectural splendor of its palaces as you listen to the onboard audio commentary. When you arrive, your coach will drive through the Russian Colony (Alexandrowka) and the Dutch Quarter (Hollandisches Viertel), both important historical sections of the city. Learn about the 134 redbrick homes comprising the largest colony of Dutch-style houses outside the Netherlands.

Pass famous Potsdam sights including the impressive Sanssouci Palace, Charlottenhof Palace and Orangery Palace, located within the spectacular Sanssouci Gardens. See the historical windmill, the Roman Baths, Glenicke Bridge and other famous landmarks.

When the audio-guided portion of your tour ends, you'll be dropped off at one of three coach stops to explore Potsdam on your own for two more hours. Visit New Palais Palace, tour the Rococo-style Sanssouci Palace or stroll past quaint homes and cozy coffee shops in the lovely Dutch Quarter. The neighborhood is located near the city center, where you can also walk or get lunch at a local restaurant. (Admission fees, meals and beverages are at your own expense.)

After a wonderful day in Potsdam, board the coach for your return to Berlin.

Despite extreme low temperatures in and around Berlin at the end of March it was a very comfortable sightseeing-tour , audioguide included - but many famous views hidden covered by snow ! I ´ll have to come and see it in summer !

It was a great trip and I reccommend that if you are interested in seeing Potsdam from Berlin you look into the tour. It was comprehensive but not boring.
