Very great tour. Thank you to our guide so knowledgable . Really is a special tour and leaves you appreciating the good things in life. Just unbelievable history
A very skilled guide gave us a human approach to a cruelty beyond apprehension. She gave us the right mix of facts, feelings and moments for contemplation. Highly recommended. Lest we forget.
Very wonderful must-do tour for those who want a meaningful one. Dennis was a wonderful guide and truly engaged with the history of the place. He is also thoughtful and responsible to each tour member. He made a huge difference that even my three children were attentive during the tour and thoughtful after the tour.
Lorna was incredibly knowledgeable and very passionate about the tour. Was always engaging and provided excellent information. Meeting up and getting to the concentration camp was very easy as Lorna was very on top of things, provided very good instructions and was always happy to answer any questions.
Tour guide Lorna, was fabulous! Very well informed. Highly recommend the tour.
I really enjoyed visiting that concentration camp. It's a really unique experience. The tour was very well organized and the tour guide, Daniel, was very helpful and willing to explain all we wanted to know. We had some time on our own to see everything as we wanted. I totally recommend it.
This was an excellent tour. Very informative and authentic. Lorna was a knowledgeable and professional guide.
Highly Recommend, very informative guide with a passion for her job, Lorna was fantastic.
Our guide Darren was excellent and has so much information to share. Explained everything in detail and this is one of the tours not to skip if you are in Berlin
Our guide Darren did an excellent job giving us the historical background to the camp. The tour was paced well even with trains that were running a little late, but most impressive was our guide's knowledge in leading us through the camp.
The guide was very knowledgeable and made the visit very interesting.
This is a must see! David, was our guide and he made the tour! He was very educated on the events that happened and he presented it with the right amount of respect and reverence needed. I almost didn't sign up for this tour due to the return trip, on you own, on the train. David made sure all the people on the tour had their tickets and made their connections.
It was a sobering and interesting tour. Rick, our tour guide, did a great job and provided a very informative commentary.
United States of America
It was great. The guide was nice and friendly. She was very knowledgeable.
This is a must-see for anybody interested in the history of the world. This tour was professionally conducted by our guide Rick. An insight into the the two world wars of last century revealed how quickly any nation can descend into a downward spiral of self-destruction. Very educational and thought provoking.
Phillipa was a fantastic guide. Very knowlegeable and experienced in conducting Sachsenhausen Tours. A few classmates and I took a day trip out to Oranienberg. I enjoyed the scenic train ride and the time flew by as Phillipa captivated us with decades of important history!
So lucky with our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions!! Thanks
Amazing tour with guide Caroline! She was extraordinary, very helpful and with great knowledge of history. We had such a great experience even with the train drivers' strike. Definitely recommended!
A visit to Germany would not be complete without a visit to a concentration camp - it's history we can never forget and part of the heritage. Sachsenhausen is just a short subway ride from Berlin 40-minutes, and another 10-15 minute walk from the station. It was very useful to get a primer about the area, site and history before entering. Upon entering the camp, your heart seems to drop, and you can almost feel the devastation and lost souls. There are a few buildings remaining, and most of the grounds are sacred and bare. You will never forget visiting the remains.
The tour is not pleasant nor should it be one where you take photos, etc. It should be reflective.
Our guide, Rick, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the site and history his MA major, so he was able to provide deep insights and answer all questions. He was also very sociable with everyone in the group, chatting about backgrounds, interests, etc. I would have loved to have gone on another tour with him.
Dennis the guide was exceptional. He gave us lots of valuable information and was quiet theatrical as well. You couldn't get anyone more helpful.
I believe that everyone should attend a tour like this to see, and to learn from, the interesting and sad past of the horrors conducted around the time of WW2. This is the core message that was so amazingly delivered by our wonderful tour guide, Jared. Jared is so knowledgable and delivers outstanding information that will make this tour one of the most interesting you will attend. With his education in psychology, and vast knowledge of history, we were able to have an even better experience as he tied so much of what we were seeing and feeling deeper into the context of history and how it relates to Germany today. Absolutely wonderful job done by Jared, who even helped us once we got back on the train back to Berlin by trying to get us where we needed to go and answering any last minute questions that we may have had. I recommend anyone attending this tour to first visit the Topography of Terror in Berlin to get a solid background learning to even further help make this tour meaningful.
