Great family activity. Our two teens loved it. Great way to see the the volcano area. Guide and driver most helpful. Felt safe and had a fun adventure
It was a great tour for people of all ages. Pretty and Mike were excellent tour guides and my boys and I had a wonderful experience.
Amazing experience. The tour is something any level rider can do. We had people of all ages and fitness levels. Only 2 moderate inclines, and the rest was downhill. So much fun seeing the lava tube, rainforest, and volcano. our guide Mike was fantastic!
This was a highlight of our trip! The ride was mostly easy, with only a couple of hills. However, if you are not able to ride at least 10 miles, then you shouldn't do this tour. This is a great way to experience Volcano National Park!
My husband and I loved this tour!! Now, we had some people tell us just to go through volcano national park on our own and skip the cost of a tour, but the tour guides are what made this tour so awesome! For starters, everything was as described: We were picked up on time, were given sufficient instruction and yummy snacks and a delicious lunch. Second, our driver/ tour guide, Pretty, was awesome! Born and raised in Hilo, Hawai'i she shared so much about the local history and especially the cultural significance of many things we saw. We would never have learned a fraction of what we did had we gone and hiked the park on our own. Mike, our bike tour leader and tour guide was awesome as well! Learned so much from him again about the local history, folk tales/religious significance of many plants and sights we saw. On the way down to lunch by the ocean, Mike showed us several slides in the car about local wildlife, about the volcanoes and lava. It was really cool. This is one of my favorite things we did while on the big island. Highly recommend for a fun trip! Also, if we were not leaving town that night, Mike recommended some great spots to see the lava glow after the sun went down and also a great hiking trail down into the crater which looked really cool. Pretty also recommended going up to the observatory at the top of Mouna Loa at night to look at the stars and see the incredible view. We will definitely do these things next time we go. So much to do and see on the big island-we loved it and we loved this tour!!
Excellent! We were picked up on time. Tour was as described. Tour guide was fantastic. Driver was also top notch. Lunch was delicious. Weather was perfect. Views and history were beautiful and so interesting. Worth doing.
My family and I had a wonderful time on this bike tour. My husband and I live in Oahu and we traveled to the Big Island with his parents who were visiting from out of state it was great for both those who live here and those visiting. Our guides, Nainoa and Pretty did a fantastic job!! The bike ride was paced well with excellent stops and snack/water breaks along the way, kept fun and informative by our guides, and got to see some wonderful sites of the volcano. It ended on a wonderful note, eating our lunches on previously formed lava patches overlooking the ocean.
This was one of the highlights of our trip! The guides were great and it was a wonderful way to see the park.
Would highly recommend this trip activity to see the big island - if you do nothing else DO THIS! . We had Pretti and Michael as our hosts and learnt so much amazing stuff about the island that we wouldn't have known just exploring on our own. The bike ride was so well organised, with water and snacks for us on the journey down, then a cracking lunch at the bottom. There is one steep ish hill which was challenge in the heat we had - but not one batted an eye when I started walking!!! Cant thank Bike Volcano team enough!!!
Pretty and Mike did a great job! Loved this tour and would highly recommend. They provided great commentary on the history of the volcano. Enjoyed the combination of biking and stops at highlights along the route.
So much fun! The best way to explore the beautiful volcanos. The guides, Andrea and Pretty were amazing, informative and fun.. The Highlight of our Hawaii family vacation

Priddy and Mike had us for the day and it was totally awesome. The bikes fit well and we had lots of narative about the area that we wouldn't have known otherwise. It was a beautiful and very fun ride all day that ended on the rocks of the coast at the southern end of the park with food that we picked for ourselves earlier in the booking. It couldn't have been more fun and will not be forgotten!!
Excellent trip, enough exhiliration to keep it interesting! Robbie was great, the day was perfect and the sights were amazing! Thank you!
Tour guides Robbie and Pretty are so informative! Great to hear about the volcano history, local cultural folklore, and ride bikes! 15 mile biking went by fast. Will do again!
Our hosts, Alexis and Pretty, had supportive and cheerful manners and all members of the group (10) were made to feel competent and welcome. Even a little precipitation didn't diminish the experience.
The tour was terrific. A perfect combination, exercise, information, natural beauty and fun!
My husband and I had a fantastic time on this tour! Our tour guides were funny, informative, and energetic. We learned so much about the Volcano National Park and had fun while we were at it! What a great way to see all this beautiful park has to offer!
This was the best tour! The tour guides were wonderful! The food was great! I could not have asked for a better experience! They were very patience, educational, encouraging, and knowledgeable. The equipment was well kept and the bike ride was a great 14 mile work out for my family from age 14 to 53. We had a great time saw beautiful country! Thank you for this wonderful experience!
Great information. Great views. Biking was a great way to see the park.
Our guides included a truck driver from one of the defunct sugar plantations, a competitive koa canoeist, and a recent geologist grad from Hilo University. These women knew their stuff, were fun, reassuring and provided us a great perspective on the volcano, flora, fauna, as well as history and culture of the area. They even brought out "the horse" for me to ride (nickname for the large frame bike frame that fit me well). Lunch was great. The ride is mostly downhill and a nice way to cover a lot of ground and learn a lot in a short time.
Lot of fun, definitely worth it. Very knowledgeable tour guides and a great way to see the sights!
This was an amazing tour. We got to stop at the most relevant spots to get an understanding of the volcano and landscape. Bicycling through the lava fields and tropical woods was spectacular. My favorite part was the downhill on Chain of Craters road. The guide was very knowledgable and compassionate. The driver shared some local legends along the drive. One of our party had not been on a bicycle in many years and was treated with gentleness and patience. We also had a member with a food allergy and they were very accommodating.
We would highly recommend this tour for anyone with a sense of curiosity and adventure.

Definitely a must-do for active people, as the ride is around fifteen miles (with breaks, water and snacks provided). I learned a lot more about the park than I ever had before. Our guide Megan was very well-versed in the area, its history and topography.
