Amazing tour!! We started in Kona and went to try coffee and tea for free at an organic farm...Hawaiian coffee is delicious!. Our guide, Grant, was very knowledgable and funny. Dinner was very good...recommend to eat the fish, you will love it too. The volcano experience is a WOW!!!
Great tour, Ken the guide was a excellent guy very kind and nice.
Fantastic guide- Grant new all the right places to see many local tales and legions. We had a long enjoyable day and evening. Great dinner at park lodge but the charmer-Grant deserves a gold metal!
Our tour guide, Jordan, was particularly knowledgeable, personable and helpful. This was a great tour and covered a lot of the volcanoe highlights, especially the nightime view of the volcanoe's glow. The dinner, which was included, worked out very well also.
This was an amazing trip. We had beautiful weather and a really knowledgeable guide. Although there was no lava flowing it was still great to get up and personal with such an enormous beast. Very worthwhile.
Awesome trip. Jordan was an amazing guide , he was engaging and was entertaining and kept 3 teenagers interested. Well worth the money would do the tour again. Great family tour.
Very informative and interesting tour. Our friendly and helpful guide gave us a lot of information about Hawaii, its history, wildlife and of course the volcanic activity. It was nice to have snacks, drinks, hand towels, torches and umbrellas at our disposal. We visited Big Island at a time when Kilauea was relatively quiet; there were no red lava flows viewable at the time of our visit. However this tour gave us the best possible overview. The steam vents and older lava fields were fascinating. After dinner the view of the glowing crater at night was spectacular.
Ken was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable of a wide variety of areas.
Visits many different and interesting sites. Tour guide was very helpful and informative. Overall very good.
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the guide made it so nice. He was friendly, informative and very patient with everyone. He made the entire tour fun. I would highly recommend the tour and the guide (Andy) should be commended.
We toured during the government shut-down, so we could not get in to see the volcanoes which were in a closed national park. Our guide, Marcus, devised a wonderful alternative itinerary which took us to caves, waterfalls, rain forests, and beaches, all of which were run by the state and remained open. He had a vast knowledge of the geology, flora and fauna as well as native legends which made the trip so much more enjoyable. He supplied us with snacks and lunch, and then cooked us dinner at the Painted Church outside Hilo. From start to finish it was over 12 hours, and he kindly delivered us directly to our door at the end of the trip. Well worth it. Ask for Marcus if you're looking for someone with knowledge, boundless energy, and a cheerful attitude all the way.
Going to see the volcano was exciting enough but Grant our guide made it fun and fact filled. He had a seemingly unending knowledge of the flora and fauna in the area. His jokes may have been bad, and they were, but we enjoyed every minute of our trip. Thank you.
WONDERFUL TOUR. OUR GUIDE MARCUS WAS ESPECIALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE and COURTEOUS
The tour was fantastic. We were looking for a highly rated tour that left from the Kona side of the island. We wanted to experience the volcanoes and lava glow at night, without having to drive back in the dark. This one was excellent, it exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide Rob D. was fantastic! He was knowledgable, professional, and friendly. The best part is that the trip from Kona was broken up nicely by a stop at a coffee farm for a very interesting tour, then a stop at a black sand beach, and finally a stop at an authentic Hawaiin bakery. Before you knew it, we were at Volcanoe National Park. Along the way (both there and back) Rob made our trip extremely interesting by sharing a lot of local knowledge, stories of Hawaiin folklore, and nuggets of rich island history. Overall, we were extremely satisfied at our decision to take the tour instead of driving to the other side of the island. We considered this money well spent!
