This was a wonderful experience. The crew was very familiar with the animals that we saw and they took extra care to make sure that we had sightings!
There was a lot of whale activity the day we went. The person commentating did an awesome job. Her love and interest about the whales was very obvious !! Great time !!
Whale watching cruise was awesome! Saw about 12 whales up close and several more in the distance. Our nauralist guide was very knowledgable about the whales that we saw - their names, markings, what calf belonged to what mother, etc. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone traveling to Boston!
Whale watching was unbelievable. I have never seen so many whales so close. Boat crew and naturalist were great. Very enjoyable. Aquarium was good also.
The trip was great and we saw so many whales we lost count. I would definately recommend a Viator Cruise to everyone. It was the highlight of our visit to Boston..
this was the highlight of our two week Salem to Cape Cop vacation! More than 1.5 hours constant contact (50 yards) with a Humpback cow and her calf!
whale watching was brilliant we saw a humpback whale called measles . trip lasted 3hours 45 mins very good value , staff very experienced and helpful .Aquarium was out of this world best i have ever seen we really enjoyed our visit
Great tour, went in late May and say 20-30 whales, mostly humpbacks but also finn. It's about an hour's travel in the boat each way, so be prepared for that, but with so many whales around, we saw a goodly number in the hour we had to watch the whales. The tour operator was well organised and recognised and dealt with the vouchers without trouble. The aquarium was also fun, and nice to have a couple of hours off the boat. Note, there were not too many places to eat around Central Quay, although there were simple snacks on the boat to keep you going.
We saw whales jump out of the water four different times, in addition to all of the whales swimming around the ship. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. My eight year old will always remember this epic experience!
We spotted 3 different whales and the crew was great! Best Whale watching cruise I've ever been on.
The whale watching was a wonderful experience but the aquarium was a let down. Both tennessee's and Georgia's aquariums are far superior.
Educational and lots of whales. Would be nice to get closer.
But I would recommend you do it once.
We had a nice tour. The tour operator tried level best for best view of Whale and cooperative.
We recommend all visitors to take this tour.
Both the aquarium and the whale watching trip were fun. A little disappointed to see only one whale but the boat ride was comfortable and relaxing.
The boat ride was nice. It took us about 1:15 minutes to get to whales. It would be nice if they had a separate viewing area just for kids, because it is difficult for them to run from side to side.
.Even on a hot day take a jacket with you. Take snacks for kids.
The Aquarium was a nice experience too. After 4 p.m. it was pretty much empty
The aquarium was awesome! The first trip to see the whales the fog sat in and we did not see any whales. We went out the next day, July 4 th, and we got caught in the storm so, we still did not see any whales. We were disappointed but we did enjoy the boat ride! We do have rain checks but don't know if we will ever use them.
The only reason I am rating this tour a 3/5 is because Viator did not properly book my reservation. Viator did not seem to take my reservation the first time around when I had booked this tour three days ahead of time. I had received a confirmation email for my tour ticket; however, when I went to the booth an hour before boarding time on the ship, the ticket attendants could not find my reservation even though I had shown them my confirmation email. They said the tour time I had initial reserved was fully booked, so I had to wait another three hours until the next tour.
Luckily, since this was a whale-watching AND New England Aquarium package, I killed three hours of my time exploring the beautiful aquarium before boarding the whale-watching ship.
The whale-watching cruise was breathtaking! The guides are knowledgeable, and the captain was skilled in guiding and maneuvering the sea craft so that both sides of the ship could view the whales. Our tour was lucky enough to see three different species of whales!
This is highly recommended, but make sure to TRIPLE-CHECK to make sure your reservations are actually booked! Viator did a disappointing, horrible job of making a reservation for me, though they were kind enough to put me on the next tour.
I have been on whale watching tours out of Maine/Canada and this was not even close. While I realize that when you are watching nature that you are watching on their terms, this was a very boring outing. We saw two sets of sleeping whales and the crowd on the boat pushed the smaller children out of the way so that they did not even get to see the sleeping whales. I asked if we could return the following day to try again and was told that this was considered a successful trip, therefore we would have to pay to return the following day. We were also told that it was considered a very successful trip. I would not recommend this event to others.
