We had a great time on the tour. Frankie, our driver, was a personable and helpful tour guide, went out of his way to accommodate our requests, talked interestingly and passionately about the history of the region, but also was tactful enough to give us some quiet times to do our own contemplations. We went away with some lovely memories of Massachussets and southern New Hampshire. We so liked him that we took the Concord/Lexington tour the next day, knowing he was driving it. Thanks folks, from a couple of appreciate Australians.
I was visiting from Ottawa and it's all about timing for this type of trip - but you need some luck with the weather. In my case, Mother Nature was awesome - providing clear blue skies and endless sunshine to show off the spectacular Autumn colours in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The driver (Max?) was also excellent and even added an unscheduled stop to take in some magnificent colours along a small stream near a strip mall. Lunch was arranged (but an additional charge) - it was tasty and substantial (3 choices). It was just the right pace and mixture of coach time and stoppage time (for photos). My only disappointment was the hotel connection (which failed to pick me up and I needed a taxi to the main depot) ... but once on the tour I was extremely satisfied and had a marvellous day, meeting new friends from the Boston area too. Thank you.
Perfect Tour. Our driver even made an additional stop to admire the fall colors.Highly recommend
That was a fantastic trip, our bus driver was full of information, very nice person.
The weather was beautiful, restaurant was ok, Timing excellent. Very relaxing yet very informative tour. Loved it.
This was an excellent tour and the driver (whose name I think was Mike although I'm not certain) was very helpful, informative and flexible. He found some brilliant and beautiful spots for taking photographs and generally enjoying the 'fall foliage'. I ended up with some wonderful photographs of Massachusetts and New Hampshire fall colours. The only drawback is the stopping places for breaks and food weren't up to the same standard as the rest of the tour. The first place where we stopped for coffee was woefully under provisioned with 'restrooms' as was the last place we stopped for hot apple cider (which was tiny!). Lunch was adequate but the service was very slow. The tour would be improved by finding alternative stopping places for food and rest breaks. Nevertheless, it is a stunning tour and I highly recommend it.
This was an amazing tour ,nice color. We loved Frankie, our driver. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He had great
Commentary. The lunch was good but a little slow to serve.
Fantastic. Frankie was so informative and the scenery was beautiful. Bus was very comfortable. Woukd highly recommend. Only recommendation would b to change apple farm to the next one closer to one we stipples at as option looked nicer.
Our guide was excellent, very informative and entertaining. We had a wonderful day on the "leaf peepers" tour.
Beautiful scenery. A bit too early for the Fall foliage, but still a good trip.
The tour was great, driver had great knowledge of everything. Lunch terrific too. All in all a great day out.
Absolute Perfection! With Frankie our amazing, funny sweet driver, guiding us through the picturesque drive, it was absolutely a joyful day. From ice cream at the dairy, lunch at the Tavern ( with home made pumpkin bread) to every stone church and covered bridge; it was such a special and perfect day!
The tour was very relaxing and all that we had hoped it would be. We were picked up at the Boston hotel, as promised, and then taken to the downtown Grayline office where we exchanged our vouchers for actual tickets for whichever tour we had signed up for. Some on our bus were doing a seashore tour, others a Martha's Vineyard tour and others the fall foliage, so the Grayline office was the starting point for all tours and the pick-up bus delivered us there. Once on the bus, our driver was extremely friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. He made several stops along the way so that we could take pictures. He even took us on a loop road that one of the other drivers had recommended because he thought the colors would be great along this particular lake. And he was right. It was a lovely and easy side excursion, off the beaten path and well worth a few extra minutes. We had a rest stop where we could get some coffee and muffins and then we began our trip into the really rural area, where we saw very little in the way of commercial sites but lots of nice color. Our lunch stop was a nice restaurant in Rindge, NH and the meal was large and excellent . We were given the choice of 3 different entree items that we pre-selected before we left Boston and they were waiting for us when we got to the restaurant. After lunch we continued on into New Hampshire but unfortunately, we lost color the further north we went. In the early afternoon we made a stop at a roadside pumpkin farm where we could get cider and use the facilities, then we headed back to Boston. As we neared Boston, the color became intense again and was quite beautiful. It was a lovely excursion all the way around and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in seeing the color. We did this on Monday, October 21 and the color in and around Boston was magnificent but it was a bit late for the part of the trip into New Hampshire. It made no difference, as it was still a delightful trip!
