What You Can Expect

Harvard Campus Walking Tour and Admission to Natural History Museum

Harvard University

Harvard University doesn’t really need any introduction. The private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, MA, was established in 1636 and since that time, its history, influence and wealth have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world. It’s listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and it’s a U.S. National Historic Landmark District.
On this exclusive Harvard campus tour, meet the guide and students who will provide an inside look at college life in Cambridge and start this 1-hour walking tour of the university.
Begin at Harvard Yard, an area of just over 22 acres that’s enclosed by fences with 27 gates. Not only is it the oldest part of the campus, it’s also the center of its history and the crossroads of its modern-day campus with dorms, libraries and classrooms. Check out Old Yard with Harvard’s oldest building, Massachusetts Hall. Then head to Harvard Square near the center of Cambridge, with everything from bookstores, coffee houses, fine dining and pizza to old theaters, public art, street performers and world-class music.
Finally, explore the Harvard Museum of Natural History, the public face of three research museums: the Museum of Comparative Zoology, the Harvard University Herbaria, and the Mineralogical & Geological Museum.

The tour was amazing, our tour guide Eddie was so entertaining, knowledgeable and extremely personable. I'm so glad we did it! However next time I would book just the tour and not the museum and restaurant as they were not as impressive. The only downside was we weren't able to see the inside of a lot of the buildings, which I understand as it's still an operating school and not a museum but it would have been great to be able to see the inside of the library and the freshman dining hall. Excellent tour, I highly recommend it!

Our tour guide was fantastic and really brought this tour to life. It was great to learn about this fantastic institution and see some of its incredible buildings. The only slight frustration was not being able to go inside any of the buildings.
