Maragogi from Recife

Located in the Alagoas State in Northeast Brazil is Maragogi. Initially a small village called Gamela, in 1887, it was granted the status of a Town and adopted the name of Isabel, to honor the Brazilian Princess who signed a law ending slavery in Brazil. In 1892, it was named as Maragogi after the river that bathes the city.

The beach that is a true gem and one of Brazil's most beautiful. Take an optional a boat trip to explore the gales (a complex of coral reefs and sandbanks 6km offshore, where you can swim and appreciate the flora) or a buggy trip - all in region of unspoiled white sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters and plenty of shade from the abundant coconut trees.
